Erfworld: Book 2 discussion (spoilers)

Looks like Jack’s casting a Cure spell on Wanda.

I was going to ask if you got that from the situation or from “Tolhurst Michael Dempsey Robert Smith”. Then I googled Tolhurst. It’s not A cure it’s The Cure.

Love the puns in this comic.

Not just Tolhurst. Lol Tolhurst (see penultimate panel).

Missed the edit window: BTW, Duke Antium, for all that he’s being so easily spoofed by Jack, really is badass, the way he keeps going.

…at least until those arrows over his head in the penultimate panel hit him…

Text Erf update

It would seem that all the free time of Casters in the Magic Kingdom has gone into forming conspiracies.

I missed that. It just seemed like a comment he was making. Thanks.

The Thinkamancers don’t seem to like Charlie. Although it doesn’t mention how the Archons feel about him. I’m jonesing for an update.

So far as I understand Natural Thinkamancy, the archons don’t feel about Charlie. Only commander-units (which includes casters) have what can be properly considered free will, and even that’s constrained for everyone but Rulers (and presumably barbarians).

New Erf

Jack makes funny, and the Duke gets ditto’d.

That decrypted dwagon looks… ominous

Well and good, but I want to see Parson getting into the action.

New Erf

Getting closer to Parson getting into the action. And everyone basically ignores Ossomer.

Jetstone has a bit more flying units than I thought they’d said were available: Orlys, and Unipegataurs (one with a pornstache, even). Wonder why they weren’t deployed with Jillian?

And the Orly gets the best line of the update.

New Erf (finally)

Took me a moment to figure out the " " around Ossomer wasn’t an anime-ish stress sweatdrop thing, but Archons flying in the distance.

Also, the tiger-stripe pink dwagons look surprisingly badass now.

And, hey, first glimpse of the healomancer… with martini in hand.

There was a text update and now a new picture-y one is up!

Looks like the Don is up to something…

Don King is going off to talk to King Slately – note that Bunny is following the Don, and recall that the last frame of the prior strip was Slately saying he must speak with a friend.

My own wild conjecture here is that Slately is planning on pulling a Queen Bea, and is going to say goodbye to Don King.

No, if he just wants to deny the enemy all of Jetstone’s units, he’d just evacuate the city, like Tramennis suggested. They still have room for a defense in depth. And then set about making Tramennis an heir.

Jetstone is broke, and now probably won’t survive Haggar’s next turn. Slately would have to see beyond his own narrow little box, and I don’t think he’s able to do that. He’s a small, little man, after all.

Tramennis could. Jillian of course would never give up. But Slately… maybe Don King’ll give him a good pep talk, or maybe Slately really will listen to Tramennis (what he said to Ossomer implied so).

But, eh. I said it was wild conjecture.

Or maybe Slately is going to ask Don King for the shmuckers to upgrade Tramennis to heir status now. Which would make Don’s already-tenuous financial state worse.

I’m slightly confused by Tramennis’ strategy - are they locked in the tower and planning an all-out siege-breaking assault, as both Wanda and Transylvito seem to think, or is there another way out?

The GK units know that Slately was in the tower, and don’t know that the plan is for him to leave the tower immediately. From their point of view, toppling the tower isn’t a guarantee of victory, but it still seems like a pretty good bet. They’ll lose that bet, but hey, what’s one enemy-city tower, more or less?
