It is kind of ironic, though, that the side of Unaroyal apparently had at least two Royals (well, until recently, at least).
I found this latest update and the one with the guy wondering what would happen to his spear to be very moving.
I had not known that about the portals to the Magic Kingdom, but I had wondered why Parson had been expecting another result.
double post
I wonder what happens to the Decrypted if Wanda herself is croaked…
The “there’s no place like home” line when Parson desperately tried the portal suggests that he was still thinking that maybe it was all a dream after all.
Queen Bea committed suicide/disbanded all her troops to keep them/her from falling into Wanda’s hands, right?
We don’t really know that Janis was actually saying that Parson was a Hippymancer, or just trying to save him from being killed because she recognized his potential to break rules and bring peace to Erfworld (which would be a Hippymancerish goal, after all). He’s mentioned trying some spells, and failing utterly. And we know he’s the “Perfect Warlord” – a function that does not include being a caster.
So all we really know is that Parson doesn’t get killed by going to the Magic Kingdom, just like he doesn’t have unit stats, and can’t see unit stats, and is able to overcome the cursing-prohibition, and a whole other lot of things that make him just not fit into the rules of Erfworld.
But, yes, Bea ended her life to prevent herself from becoming Decrypted. Had she left her units in the city, they would have gone neutral when she died as Uniroyal would have had no Ruler. Neutral sides apparently are frozen, with no turn, waiting for someone to claim them, so Wanda would have gotten them that way, too. In the field, they disbanded since their side had no Ruler.
But the big thing that I don’t get is that they’re going to have fight Wanda’s forces eventually, and you generally want troops to do that. Why did she do this now, and now say, right after a lost battle? I don’t remember that city being in imminent danger.
Because she had lost hope.
And rightly so. Ansom is a good warlord and the Arkenpliers, in Wanda’s hands, are kingdom beaters.
Because losing a battle means more decrypted. Since she had no chance to win the only way to hurt the other side was by completely denying them her troops, notice she also tells Don Vito that she spent almost all of her treasury upgrading her units before she suicided.
Don King! Don Vito isn’t a pun! sheesh.

Ok, I get it. I wanna see how the other players react to this.
I’m somewhat curious to know where the Schmuckers and jewels go to when a side spends treasure on such non-transactional expenses as daily upkeep and unit upgrades.
And if that’s ever answered, will Parson & Co. start working on a way to conquer that place?
And if so, is that what Janis was referring to in her talk with Sizemore?
Okay, I’m at three levels of speculation now, I think that’s enough for one post.
Whaddaya mean, “where do they go”? They’re spent! When you spend money, it’s gone.
You might as well ask where the schmuckers come from that a city produces.
It’s interesting how Parson’s opinions toward Maggie and Cruella have changed.
Am I a bad person for having already contemplated both the issue under discussion and Parson’s concerns prior to this update? I mean, he has been there a while. And he is very big, relatively speaking.
Anyone with as much strategic foresight as Parson will naturally be concerned about Wanda’s domination [sic] of the agenda, if not yet the world. A time where they’re on opposite sides of the fence may not be far off.
Yes, perhaps you might. And it might be interesting learn if those questions are as meaningless as you seem to be finding axiomatic. Also, which societies use Schmuckers, and which ones use Rands.
