You & me both, yojimbo. I don’t get it. People have posted fictional stories here before without revealing that they were fictional until after several people had commented. If it’s a fabrication, it’s a pretty dumb joke. Maybe I just haven’t been here long enough.
The only thing I can think of is some sort of wierd Muchausen(sp?) thing .
Also somebody either recognised the fraud and told the admin. of the I.P. was very recognisable.

I don’t know anymore than anyone else on this board regarding Euty’s decision to close that thread.
Stop with your whoa is me attitude and the cliquish crap regarding the chat room and being a new person to the boards. That’s a pussy attitude really.
Look, the thing is, the moderators and admins closed the topic and banned the person for reasons. They don’t have to detail every little decision they make to the masses. I am a moderator on another board and obviously you don’t know what happens behind the scenes, okay? Got it? We may not always understand or agree with their (the SD mod’s and admin’s) decisions but sometimes it’s better not to question especially when the poster in question had only two posts on this board.
As I stated, in a different terms, the fact that Do Z stated “And why should we care?” shows to me it was a weak attempt at starting a topic.
So Wooster, newbie or not, it doesn’t matter. If the mods and admins make a decision regarding this board I would assume that they worked together for the best possible outcome and Euty explained it as best as he felt was necessary.

Sounds like the someone took up the posted offer to email the guy and got an answer back that it was a joke, something simple like that.
Eutychus55 probably just thought he had explained everything. He may say more or not. Sometimes the mods are reticent and sometimes voluable when they ban someone. It’s not a policy as much as a whim, so don’t try to read too much into it.

I’m not going to say much more about this since to do so would be to reveal a confidence that I’ve been asked not to reveal.
Suffice it to say that the poster in question is not a newbie, and has been a thorn in the side of various moderators for quite a time now. We just now discovered that various complaints that poster had made to us in private e-mails and the post in question had all been complete fabrications.
If it HAD been just a piece of fiction and labeled so, it might have been allowed to stand. But what with ACTUAL birth, deaths, depressions, elations, and etc., emotions run high here and trifling with them is something that we’re not going to allow when we uncover it.
That’s all I’m gonna say. You’re just going to have to trust us on this one.

Don’t feel so bad Silverfire. I’ve been on this board forever and I still got taken in by this guy. I think this will also make me think twice before congratulating anybody on this board again.
