Even if Community survives, Chevy may not.

Interesting article
Here’s an interview with him. I figured after burning his bridges in the past he’d have learned by now. Oh well.

Uh oh. Nothing like himself? Self delusion or dementia is setting in.

Coming from a man known for his humility, right?

He does make some good points though.

At least he’s aware of his situation.

Not that he minds, seeing as how he doesn’t like sitcoms anyway.

In your case, it thought it was to remind people, “Hey, I’m still here!” Oh wait, you don’t like doing that. So then why did you join the show in the first place?

Good, he’s the least funny part of the show anyway. I never saw SNL, I never saw those movies everyone was talking about in the bumped Chevy Chase thread. I have no conception of him except that he’s got a big ego and he’s not funny on Community.

Oh, I thought he’s okay on the show. He’s the straight man. It’s the others who are supposed to be funny.

All I know is when he comes on, I feel like the Dean. “Oh, Pierce is in this?” leaves to get coffee

That’s simply untrue. The guy who says “pop pop” is still alive.

Although she talked very nice about him, I recently heard Gillian Jacobs mention that Joel likes to torture Chevy by leaving copies of “Karate Dog” around the set.

Joel McHale interview – MUST WATCH

McHale’s character is every bit as obnoxious as Chase is reputed to be. He gets away with it because he is youthful. Winger is a despicable narcissist.

If they can’t come up with anything for him to do, they need not keep him around.

No, the kind of comedy Pierce provides are non sequiters, silly gadgets, and comments that reveal that his mind is slipping, “I keep forgetting it’s the 90’s.”

Edit: To be honest, I think the writers could do a better job with him. His character isn’t that great, but then he’s just working with what he’s given.

I envy you. He even sucked on SNL 35 years ago.

I’ve never seen the current show referred to in the OP, so I can’t give any opinion about it. But it sounds like they created a character for all to hate and despise, so Chevy was perfectly cast.

He’s also a fictional character.

You may be right.

He has a reputation going all the way back to his SNL days for being a prima donna. So no surprise here.

But he has had some pretty good moments on the show, especially the Dungeons and Dragons episode from last year, where he was wicked hilarious.

That was great, thanks.

For those old enough to remember:
I’m Chevy Chase…and you’re not.
Yes. I’m presuming that McHale is not that way when out of character.

You leave Magnitude out of this!

Well, there is hope. In this last episode he had non “pop pop” lines.

I think when Abed told him to take down the pillow fort he responded, “Pop pop captain.”
