I went back to the ortho doc today for my knee shots and a woman came in and claimed the seat where folks sign in. It was obvious she was quite high on something. The nurse was asking her to move to a regular seat and she was crying and carrying on. A cop came in and said “who is the one with the terrible parking?” The nurse jestered to the woman and the cop walked over to her and very kindly said to her that she must not drive away. Told the nurse not to let her drive and to have her car towed if they wanted. It was a huge scene. The nurse called someone to come pick her up. Her car was sitting all haphazard and still running. Twas an interesting visit to the Dr. I don’t know what happened after I left but thank God I got out of there before her. Only in Key West.
OYKW is back (YAY!) and pizza has been ingested. He’s preparin’ himself a bath in the whirlpool tub. He’s tahrd, poor thing. Spidey we do visit family together on occasion. I could have gone to West Alabammy but really didn’t want to go. When I say the “wilds” I mean where he comes from is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay out in the country down a lot of county farm roads. I was just as happy to spend a quiet Christmas this year. He’s been up with me numerous times to Ye Olde Home Towne which is a lot closer from here. Sis and he are dangerous together. They gang up on me. 
He had a good time visitin’ with family and old friends which is great.

sari, Nelson can’t quite jump up on the bed (mine’s 27" high) and rarely will jump off. All the better for his knees. To settle him down at night, I put a treat in one of these mongoose dog toys - Bing It serves the same purpose as a binky for a baby. 
doggio, I feel your pain. My water heater went out twice in a two month period. The second time, they did a temporary patch before replacing it two weeks later. I felt the pain with my electric bill this month: $100 over the usual. :eek:
I wound up staying over a half hour today. Our Mexico operations required some inventory adjustments to correct several receiving errors. All of the global ops that we’re responsible for have been given a heads up that the cut off for inventory issues will be 12:00 PM CST tomorrow. Otherwise, they’re SOL until Tuesday.
Or you all with puppies could just buy some stairs like HRH LUCKY LOUIE has for both beds.

Our generator is 17 years old. I used it when I lived in the woods during the 2000 Arkansas ice storm to run the well pump, gas furnace, satellite receiver and TV.
But I digress.
It is going to be damn cold this and next week, with the possibility of snow and ice this weekend. I priced generators, and bought one from Amazon yesterday.
It arrived this afternoon with free shipping.
How did Amazon do that? Do they have a deal with Home Depot around the corner? It was the same price at HD and Amazon, and Amazon had free delivery.
butters, actually, I prefer Nelson stay in the bed so’s I can keep tabs on his little butt. I considered stairs and my dad volunteered to make a set, but as long as he’s happy with me lifting him in and out, I don’t have to worry about him having the run of the place whilst I’m asleep. Maybe once he’s matured some.

I ran 4½ in 19° tonight w/ just enough moonlight that I didn’t turn my headlamp on. Of course then I couldn’t tell if the dark spots on the ground were just shadows from the trees or if there really was something on the trail. I was drenched at the end.

On other news am sleeping in the livingroom tonight. I shared the joy that is my cold with the OW it seems and we just both needed the space to be miserable in our own right. She may or may not go to work depending on how she feels in the AM (they are shorthanded right now) but I am feeling yet another day off in my future. I know Da Jungle ain’t short handed with all the VTO they are putting out.

I have a feelin’ much sloth will ensue. I shall make a batch of chili today. Chili and cornbread will be supped upon this evenin’ and there will be chili to put in da freezer. We may go have N.O.L. at the bar down the road. Or not. It’s all willy-nilly like that today.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants food. I suppose I should purtify up a bit as well.

It’s 16 degrees outside, 60 degrees inside, and the hot water feels like ice. Joy.
Hi all. Was up at 6am to a cool foggy overcast dawn. No rain. By now the fog & overcast is gone but it remains cool.
Been fed, watered, groomed, & out of my stall for exercise. Caffeine has almost worn off enough to be able to think clearly again.
It’s official: I screwed up my employee scheduling administration for Jan and it’ll cost me some bux. I’ll be off work all month for a minor medical procedure & the FAA-mandated recovery period. Instead of the small bonus payment I thought I’d signed up for I ended up in the other pool of folks getting short pay instead. Oops. It’s annoyance level, not crisis level, but it peeves me to flunk an admin task like that. I’m usually sharper than average on administrivia. :mad: Oh well, live and learn. There’ll probably be a next time and I won’t flunk that one.
Today’s major project is to visit City Hall and buy next year’s parking pass.
I have been to :eek:Wally Jr.:eek: to purchase some coke and poopsi products they have on sale. The supply was runnin’ low and we just cannot have that.
Having laid out $500 for a backup generator, I am assured that there will be no power outage this Winter.

dag gummit I hate when my posts go poof. Tis 77F here which is the high for the day. It is another long weekend which can’t start soon enough. Gotta get my peas and collards ready to cook. I have a ham bone I think I will use in the peas. Nothing on tap for the new year’s eve as it is our anniversary and we have always made a point not to go out. Of course that could change but I doubt it. In KW there are so many drops of stuff. There is Sushi the drag queen that gets lowered from the red high heel, a pirate wench lowered from the mast of a sailboat, the conch shell lowered from Sloppy Joe’s and others I am sure. The red high heel one is always telecast on CNN. You could not pay me to go and get into that drunken crowd.
