Back from the credit union. **FCD **wanted to open an account of his own, so his half of the check from my mom went to that end. Then we ran to Food Lion because I want to make shepherd’s pie (OK, actually cottage pie) for supper and I needed ground beef. I got enough for tonight’s supper and a small meatloaf. Yesterday, I got a poke loin that needs to be sliced for chops and roasts.
I’ve made some progress on the baby’s room - slowly but surely. Plus some chillage. It’s a good way to end the year.
I’ve boxed my books and I’ve got more that need to go away. I need to find out what, if any, books our library will take. The baby’s closet is now empty, so there’s progress. Slowly but surely…
Grocery shopping has been completed, the refrigerator has stuff in it to refrigerate now. I do wonder why all the Rye Bread in the stores here in Ali-bama is “Jewish” rye. Do Hebrews have a special method in making it? (I did find a loaf of “New York” Rye, so I picked it up for comparison purposes)…
Supper was yum! I just added another sack of pellets to the stove. I think i’m done being productive for the day, apart from afghaning, which doesn’t count, since I’m in front of the TV.
Random leftovers for dinner and NFL from a couple weeks ago on the telly as the sun sets on another lazy day. Wife’s happily tangling her string. Again. Some sort of lacy shawl in variegated shades of green.

I think I’m acclimating to the cold weather; ended up w/o a jacket or gloves on at one point today. Now to figger out evening sustenance.
I only irked until 11:30 today. Most of it was making adjustments to fix receiving screw ups from Brazil and Mexico. Usually one of my cow-orkers does it, but she’s been on vacay for a week and won’t be back until Wednesday. I did manage a kudos and some rewards points from my new boss though for spotting a process breakdown (more from ignorance than a conscientious effort ). I hope that serves me well in the future.
I did some irk in the studio, played 42 rounds of fetch with Nelson (right now, he has a rubber bone for round 43), let the Captain fix some fish and slaw for supper and am settling into some serious chill/studio time.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 35 Amurrkin out and cloudy. Actually it’s dark out but TWPTB say it’s cloudy so I believe ‘em. The predicted high is 53 with clouds this mornin’ then a N.O.S. afternoon. No biggie plans for the day. I took some ground beast outta da freezer to thaw out and turn into beastloaf for NYD feastin’. Besides beastloaf there shall be N.O.T. sallit, collard greens (already cleaned and in da freezer to await cookage), blackeye peas, corn bread and for dessert sour cream pound cake with strawberries and real whipped cream. A cheese ring shall be the appetizer along with the requisite Bloody Mary’s. That should be enough of a feast to get everybody goin’ for the New Year. Oh and rice. I must have blackeye peas with rice. My intentions are to make up two beastloaves at some point today and cook everything but the beastloaves, cornbread, and rice tomorrow. Eight people shall show up, so with the two of us, ten people will feast. Thus food consumption today and tomorrow shall primarily consist of foragin’, except for tomorrow night when we shall grill steaks. Anybody got big plans for NYE/NYD?
