I was banned from a time travel message board in early 2023, for revealing to outsiders that time travel exists.

I almost got banned from the urban legend forum on about.com due to telling invading women with breast implants that maybe it wasn’t a good idea.
Is anyone here familiar with an “Adult Swim” cartoon called “The Oblongs”? The father works for a company that heats the building with all the things he puts into the Suggestion Box. 
I didn’t discover the greatness of the message board until around 2002. I was more of a chat room type guy before then. I also used to have a drinking problem. 6 years sober now. But I made a boatload of enemies online that I’m not proud of.
The first forum I joined was the old DMN forum. Got banned from there because there was a thread about what would happen to New Orleans if there was a bad hurricane. Unbeknownst to me, the moderator was from New Orleans and I might have said something about how it couldn’t happen to a filthier dump! I deserved to be banned. And a couple years later when Katrina happened I got to feel tons of well deserved guilt!
I belonged to a now defunct forum that was made by friends from another forum that had all been banned. It’s initials were UFC since it was all fans of MMA at the time. It was impossible to get banned from that site. But I got banned from a DIFFERENT Forum for something I posted on the UFC forum.
I’ve been banned from numerous other sites. If I still drank I woulda been banned from this place already. But I was lucky enough to get a chronic illness that made me have to quite drinking. So I don’t really do forums much anymore. I’m still a member of like 20 of’em. But I don’t really post much. Now I’m just a smartass on Twitter!

I think it was called “friend of a friend” I think I made some women cry because no one had ever told them putting foreign objects in their chest might not be healthy.

Banned from EslCafe a number of years ago when I was still in that industry. Can’t remember why, but the mods on that forum were/are notorious among folks in that field for aggressively and randomly purging users for trivial offenses.
This is sorta my story, too. A bunch of us were banned on the same day from a message board for being uppity, so we formed our own. Then the owner of that one went on a drinking binge and shut it down. Within 24 hours, the survivors had set up still another board. But about a year ago, four of us ditched them all for our own little kaffee-klatsch.
So we did it wrong during the SDMB Great Bannination?
Not kicked off, but I’ve gotten an infraction on a different forum for putting screen time as a response for what a teen should do on his free time. I mean what the heck, that’s what I think!!!
I was jokingly banned on the anti-SDMB messageboard after claiming that I’d “trolled” there–something which is pretty much impossible for that type of board–either it’s all trolling or none of it is. It’s also pretty much impossible to ban someone from an anonymous forum if you don’t know their IP.
The only similar thing that happened is from people blocking me from YouTube discussions. The guy who voices Geoff Peterson blocked me when I asked him to name the guy he played on Family Guy. He kept mentioning it, but would never say who or in what episodes. All I wanted to do was find it, but I think he took it as me impugning him, as it was probably a bit part.
I was also blocked from an internet reviewer’s page over a misunderstanding. Since I couldn’t contact them to resolve it, I just wound up resetting my YouTube account with a different name. I’d been needing to change my name for a while anyways, as it was unpronounceable. I was actually surprised that this reset the ban, without deleting my subscriptions.
(The only real reason I really cared about being banned is that the banning also unsubscribed me. And I like that reviewer’s stuff.)
I was banned from Television Without Pity. I had been a long standing member (anyone else remember the Mighty Big TV days?) Some doofus was going on an anti-Bush rant, and I simply asked for evidence of the claims being made. No warning, no previous offenses. BOOM! The axe fell.

Yeah, Marley banned us all awhile back - I think he fat-fingered an IP address, so instead of banning whomever it was he wanted to ban, he effectively banned us all. So you could say we were all banned from here once, if you wanted.
I didn’t. Ive never heard a really satisfying explanation of why that happened, but regardless, yes, everybody was locked out for a couple of hours.
Not banned but quit after getting several messages from the owner of the board in high passive-aggressive style saying basically, “We simply don’t say things like that here, dear.” (Do like I do and imagine Betty White saying that. It’s funny that way.) I never said anything that I wouldn’t say here, just stated my opinion about the subjects at hand. No one else seemed bothered about what I said but her so I figured she was just one of those controlling types who wanted things to be just to her liking and decided to spend my time elsewhere.
Oh, and then I found the Dope. Need I say more? 
I was just kicked off the first forum I ever joined. it was a diesel performance forum.i made a post in the interdiction section. then some one committed that I have to use proper punctuation. thought it was a joke. I have been a diesel mechanic for 25 years not an English professor. anyway I made a snarky remark that I was a math guy all if good fun. bam kicked off on my first day. after I guess there called trolls made a bunch of comments oh well found another forum you just got to let it go. and don’t forget to perfect punctuation. haha like that will happen
