I’m just asking (as I don’t think it’s against the rules to P.W.I or P.U.I; just frowned upon) if anyone’s ever done this and, if so, what was the outcome?
Not even on here, per se…but have you ever been online anywhere whilst in any kind of intoxicated condition? What’s the most amusing story you can tell us about it?
Me, no. Not yet. Actually, I’ve never been drunk at all thus far in my life. Just buzzed a little (but never online at the time).
Ah, but I am a good drunk. Perhaps a bit talkative, but many have told me (not online) that it is even hard to tell when I have been drinking. Even my typing doesn’t suffer too much.
Idle - just realized it was you who started this, and though I have been a lurker (see my thread a few below) lurking still gives you a sense of what is going on here - just wanted to hope your thanksgiving turned out well and you had a great holiday.
I am slightly more talkative (and postative) whilst intoxicated. Sometimes I think I can dance. As a matter of fact, I’m inebriated right now.
Luckily for me, one cannot dance on the SDMB…
I’ve never tried it. I assume one would post things they’d rather not have in lucider moments. I would recommend anyone reading drunk to go read the thread about the best sd threads ever.
Several times, up to and including now. Never slobbering drunk, but often while buzzed. It just makes me edit my posts more carefully, looking for typos and stuff like that.
Think I’ve only danced sober twice in my life! (slow dancing doesn’t count, of course).
I think the posting while drunk rules depend on what kind drunk you are. Sure, I may say a bit more than I would normally, but anything I want to hide that much I can keep to myself even after a few drinks
We do tend to close down the Posted-While-Drunk threads. They, on average, turn out to be even sillier than usual (and we’ve seen some silly things), if even coherent with which to begin. We certainly don’t want to encourage drunk-posting, even if the results can (very rarely) be appreciably hilarious.
Considering what some of us post sober, that thought frightens me.
I’ve never posted on the SDMB drunk. I did post on another message board a bit buzzed once. It was a habit there with some of the members to post under the influence.
Alcohol hasn’t been any big deal. If sufficiently trashed I tend to post stuff that’s even more turdug than my usual writing, but it doesn’t get much worse than that.
But bolt the doors and shutters if I come to the boards after taking Ambien. I haven’t done that here, but I had an awful flu last March and took an Ambien to get some sleep, and sat down at the computer to browse a different board while waiting for it to kick in. Umm,bad idea..
