Dammit, I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting old or what it is, but I sometimes get the feeling that I’ve asked a question or posted a comment before! I try to check my posting history by putting keywords into the serach engine, but when nothing comes up, I assume it’s a new subject. However, I still get that feeling that in the past I’ve posted on that same subject before.
Does this happen to y’all too?

That’s okay, I attribute it to giving birth and each time having portions of my brain delivered w/the placenta, blech.
Then there’s your friendly, handy dandy mod who will come in and tell you there’s a thread like this elsewhere and lock you up … fortuantely, they give you a Get out of Jail Free card
I keep telling people that I’m one of those ones that will go senile and no one will notice. And I keep telling them. And telling them. And telling them. If I preview and it doesn’t return before I sign off, then I will not be sure if I posted or not, and have to check next time.

Every night, after I’ve caught up reading the SDMB, I take a shower and let my mind wander. And I come up with great thread topics, I tell ya. Really neat questions and polls that I’m sure could be answered by your regular Doper. But being a good semi-newbie Doper, I tell myself, “I’ll search to see if there’s a thread on that when I get out of the shower.” So I towel myself off, put on my robe, walk (still slightly dripping) back to my computer, bring up the search page, and…

This happens several times a week. Usually, I’ll remember the topic in the following night’s shower, only to forget it again once I get out. Apparently the shower is my portal to a higher state of thought, and unless I move my computer in there, I’ll never come up with witty thread topics.
I went so far as to copy the links of each thread I’ve begun. It doesn’t take terribly long to do, and it’s even better if you do it over a week or so, rather than all at once. You copy the links to an email to yourself or to Notepad and then add the title of the thread.
Oh, I don’t know violet, I guess some of us just like to occassionally check in on the sanity meter. But I think mine’s broken.

Maybe, if a topic has 250 replies to it & is 6 months old & I forgot if I wrote or not I might do what I call skip read first then post & hope for the best
