Err… wow, that sucked. When Dr. Brown went to whatsherface’s place to check up on her, I really wanted her roommate to say, “No, you moron - she’s on another show. That crappy-looking Dr. Vegas with Rob Lowe. I expect her back mid-season.” Let’s go down the list:
Scott Wolf: what a horrendous character. It was bad enough to have the New Age Abbott last season, but now we have a Dr. Dude?
The “Twist” ending: Yeah, it would have been a bad season if Ephram knew about the baby. It’d also mean that whatsherface would be making appearances, which she can’t. All of that is completely obvious to the audience - why not get it over with and get on with this season’s arch?
Dr. Abbott: Just horrendous writing for him. Last season he was a completely pittiable character. Things were collapsing around him, yet he still stood up. He was comic relief at points, but not every single time he appears on screen. Also a bit (and by “a bit” I mean “incredibly”) unrealistic for him not to go balistic at Andy when he found out Ephram knocked up whatsherface, especially now that he’s dating Amy and they are prone to taking long “walks” in the park together.
Ephram: Getting too old to be a senior (he’s like 23 now). But the only decent bit of writing on the show is for him. Which is unfortunate, because he’s the least interesting character on the show.
Bright: Not enough Bright. He’s hilarious, his situation makes excellent plot devices. I fear he’s going to get written off.
Where’s Colin’s sister? She’s smokin’.
