Almost every year it happens… I get sick around Christmas. It’s always something: Strep throat and mononucleosis one year, flu another year, sinus problems yet another year. And they always happen on or close to Christmas such that I cannot truely enjoy the holiday.
Well, this year is no exception, and it’s a double whammy too. This Christmas season I have a cold, my allergies are really going nuts right now (I don’t know why ) and I am pretty sure I broke a bone in my right foot in Karate class the other day. It hurts like you wouldn’t believe, and I’m sure that when I go to the doctor’s today, they will have my foot in some sort of cast to keep it immobile… all in time for Christmas.
And people wonder why I don’t like the holiday season? Because I don’t look forward to being sick, THAT’S WHY!
Ain’t that just a kick in the crotch? That sucks Dragwyr.
Sounds like you need some R&R. The stress of the holidays not to mention the shopping which exposes you to countless people with icky germs certainly makes you more susceptible.
Here’s what you should do. If you live with someone, shoo them away for few hours, turn off the phone, draw a hot bath, make a hot cup of tea, then relax in the tub for a while. Then, get in some comfy clothes, plop on the couch and either take a nap or curl up with a good book. It won’t cure what ails ya but at least you will be relaxed and refreshed.
Hope you feel better!
HAH! I got the system beat this year. I got a prescription for antibiotics called in today. Hopefully the feeling of needles in my ears will stop in 2 - 3 days. I also start my 7 days of Prednisone today.
Oh the joy of having fluid behind ear drums and my stomach is still angry about having gall bladder ripped out through my once, very sexy belly button. I now look like a friggin cabbage patch doll.
I have almost every drug known to man in this little red bag. And no, I’m not sharing. Bah humbug!
I will feel great the 24th, 25th and the 26th no matter what, dammit. I’m so tired of feeling like a pile of steaming poo. Heh, I might not be able to drive due to drugs I might take those days, but who cares? I’ll stock up on chips, salsa and pop tarts, life will be good.
