I came across this. Daily Levitation, the site of a young Japanese woman who takes photos of herself “levitating.” Apparently, since the shots aren’t faked, it can take her up to 300 exposures to get the right image.
Although there is something oddly restful about the pics it seems a strange way to use your time.
I agree that crosses the line from hobby to honest-to-god art. That it also happens to be her hobby (doing it every day, posting them to a blog instead of submitting them to an art school) is secondary. It looks like she hasn’t done one in a couple of months, though. I hope she starts again! Or that she got a job offer based on her portfolio.
But there are a couple that, due to having the head and shoulders out of frame, and the legs and arms hanging straight, end up looking more like she was hanged, rather than levitating. >_>
