As long as BPC continued to interact with them and they were not popping into threads on totally unrelated topics to make personal remarks, we were probably not going to judge them to be stalking, per se.
If BPC stays off topics that other posters will choose to consider ephebophilia and refrains from attempting dark humor that is merely offensive, the matter should die. If he is attacked on those grounds in totally unrelated threads, his attackers should be Modded.
Well said. I also find it troubling how cavalierly some are willing to hurl the charge of “pedophile”. Especially since it was high school kids two years apart. But even after the explanation, some continue with the accusation. I’d say that alone deserves to be modded.

As several of us have pointed out, it’s completely inevitable that Budget Player Cadet will be banned. It’s just a matter of time. For some reason, in cases like this the mods take a really long time to finally do what’s needed. For example see Diogenes the Cynic. Like him, BBC has the “right” politics which helps him a lot. If he were conservative he would have been banned long ago.
In the meantime, the board is sort of self moderating against him. It’s comparable to how white blood vessels isolate and attack a foreign object in your body. We’re only a small percentage of the posters, as tomndebb points out, much like how white blood cells are only a small percentage of your blood. But we’re performing a valuable service in this short window before BBC’s inevitable banning.
If you don’t want to ban him, that’s fine. You’re like a surgeon who refuses to act as you watch an impaled patient writhe with pain. The least you can do is let the white blood cells do their job while you dither.
I speak the truth. But even if you don’t agree with me on that: You can’t argue that this whole thing isn’t comedy gold.

On a serious note: I applaud your patience. It’s epic the amount of shit (from me and others) that you mods put up with. You have a thankless job and do it for free, with the peanut gallery squawking at you no matter what you do. It would be easy for you to break out the mod sticks and commence with a warning-beat down on posters who criticize you. (As I’ve done in this thread.) But you don’t do that.

I frankly have no idea what Budget Player Cadet’s politics are, nor do I care. There are conservative posters with more or similar numbers of warnings to Budget Player Cadet who are still around.
Yes. I don’t think the mods deliberately weigh someone’s political leanings against them.
However, I do think if he were a conservative that he would get piled on in every thread he posted in to the point that he couldn’t participate in any thread without taking it over. He’d be reported often. It would lead to a quick banning. Not outright bias by moderators, but just the nature of the SDMB and it’s members and moderators at work.
To be a conservative and post here without getting banned you have to be careful. You have to keep your nose clean. Pick the fights you can win. You can’t make too many mistakes.
Budget Player Cadet simply isn’t intelligent enough to pull that off. He wouldn’t last a week.
