Exhibitionism, cell phone cameras and the internet - oh my!!

Actually, it does. Sites aimed at men depict acts that men would enjoy. Sites aimed at women depict acts that women would enjoy. In the current market, there are a lot more sites aimed at men than sites aimed at women, so sites aimed at women are something of a “specialty”. How is any of this surprising?

Illustrating my original point that men raised on internet porn may have skewed ideas about what women want in bed isn’t surprising. Unless the same generation of young women is as into degradation as most of men’s porn is: I pity them.

I was going to mention X-Art. It is really excellent photography, portraying explicit sex that looks like both parties involved are genuinely enjoying it, which I hope they are, with nothing weird included and yet still feeling unique. I would be very proud to have created porn like that*.

*Though I am proud of some of the stuff I actually did make

Now me, I was raised on Playboy magazine, so I grew up believing that women were attracted to men who drank the right scotch, read the right books, told the right jokes and bought the right stereos.

I was wrong about that but I did learn better.

I think its a bit of a generalization to assume women never enjoy stuff you typcally see in porn. It would be a bad idea to simply assume women LOVE that kind of stuff, but just because there’s this trope out there “women hate all the stuff guys do in porn” doesnt mean there arent women who enjoy it. I’ve had partners who not only liked, but begged me to do all sorts of degrading, porn-ish stuff to them.

And i’m not so certain this is a generational thing,

There’s no point giving either myself or **MichaelEmouse **a lecture on how most and/or the most popular porn is degrading etc. Neither of us denied that or contradicted you on that in any way.

We just pointed out that your comment about how “someone somewhere **could **make a mint providing alternative pornography” [emphasis added] was wrong since that sort of porn already exists.

Sorry to rub your nose in your mistake, but sometimes if you make an egregious error it’s best to admit it rather than make snarky comments about splitting hairs. To be quite clear, no one was splitting hairs. You were just wrong. Get over it.

Before you start bragging in detail about your exploits, I’m going to bow out because a this requires a more discriptive discussion than I care for at the moment. I’m sure there are women who are into degrading acts, and if there is any justice in the universe, the young women exposed to the same porn might also be turned on by the acts I (unfortunately) already described. Good for them.

However, even you must agree that women are less likely to achieve orgasm from even a combo pack of the above list than actually spending some time in at least the same zipcode as a clitoris. A mutual pleasurable act requires at least a wave in the direction of a vagina in between slaps, humiliation, face painting, temporary blinding, spit, verbal assault, and clavicle assault. So… there’s that.

No, I was making a generalization, something pedantic types love to dissect. Doesn’t phase me, I’ve watched enough The Big Bang Theory to shoulder demands for precision in casual conversation. If you get bored, PM me and I toss some more at you. Here’s one to go on:

The majority of porn is geared towards men’s fantasies, which *probably * leads men to act out those fantasies on women who probably don’t share the same fondness for objectification and degradation. Because ultimately, they’d like to have an orgasm, too, rather than serve primarily as an insturment for his.

If it helps you to save face by saying so, go with it. What you said wasn’t a generalisation, it was dead wrong. Further, it’s not merely a matter of pedantry to point it out. It’s hard to understand or comment intelligently on the state of a market when you are making egregiously incorrect statements about it. You implied that unpleasant porn dominated in a market where alternative porn wasn’t available. Actually, unpleasant porn dominates in a market where alternative porn is available. There are significant differences in implications between the situation as it exists and the situation you wrongly said exists.

And as to your second para, I’ve never said anything to disagree, as I’ve already said.

Really? Even a lesbian 3-way with Madge the manicurist, Josephine the Plumber and Mrs. Olsen? Because I’ve been hoping for that since I was four years old.

Actually, I’ve run across a fair number of men who complain about that sort of thing too (and you left out the spitting, yuck). I don’t get the attraction of a lot of it myself. There often seems to be a certain amount of bad-driving-out-the-good with porn.

It’s entirely possible.

It will be a relief when humiliation leaves mainstream and retires to a niche market. From my perspective it seems as though women who are into humiliation arrived there because they are “good girls” who must objectify themselves in order to relax and enjoy sex without feeling shame. That makes me feel a little sad for them. But the men who inflict pain and humiliation are sadists. That makes me afraid of them.

But I don’t know what it looks like to twenty-five year olds who were weaned on easily accessible hard core stuff. The young guys who propositioned me proposed the same acts as if they were offering to rock my world, at least four of them definitely assumed that women somehow reach gratification via those avenues. Instead of saying “this is what I’d like to do to you” they came at me with “you want me to do this to you, you know you’d love it”. I was too perplexed to be offended, took awhile to realize they were misguided rather than profoundly ignorant of female anatomy and mutually beneficial acts.

 You, me and a few million other children of the age. Good thing I figured it out before spending money on the smoking-jacket

Y’know, it does kind of make you feel your age when you read something like Troppus’ description of “porn that lies somewhere between romance novels and bukkake” as “alternative”, as something that hard to find, and you clearly remember that used to be what “mainstream commercial porn” tried for back in its heyday.

True, it was exploitive and in no way feministic but at least the mainstream material did not normally fetishize abuse or degradation for itself – IIRC Debbie did Dallas without having to get choked against the floor, slapped around or spat on.

More accurately, their “reliable” sources tell them that the only reason a 35+ female is back at the college is that she’s a Cougar on the prowl.

Or else maybe, to use a very uncomfortable figure of speech, they were just yanking your chain, seeking to rattle your cage.

… either way, 18-22 y/o college males act like idiots, film at eleven

Well, yeah, and that was the worst part about returning to school. It would have been awkward either way, but thanks to the ball American Pie started rolling, the MILF meme convinced boys that every woman over 30 was on the prowl. I was flirted with a lot because young guys assumed I was promiscuous, but that wasn’t shocking, flattering, or remarkable at all, really. I blush easily, but still easy to shrug off.

But that was separate from the humiliation angle; the graphic come-ons involving humiliating acts were completely unexpected. It was one thing to have flirtatious bone-heads hint that they loved performing oral or propose a buddy type arrangement; it was quite another to have aggressive bone-heads back me into a corner and tell me “Let me come over and do (above named acts) to you; you know you’d love that”. Not enough data to draw a proper conclusion, but the prevalance of humiliation porn coupled with my brief experience in the company of younger guys convinced me that easily accessible porn had changed sexual mores, and not for the better.

When I was a boy we didn’t have no home video! We had to go to a theatre. In the scary part of town at night and sit in a dark room with scary men and hope that the floor was sticky from Pepsi-cola.

I personally don’t see a facial as degrading. But, I’m familiar with the arguments that it is.

But, how is tittyfucking degrading? I am confused on this one.

I’ve often wondered what it’s like for a high school girl today. When I was a lad, porn was an old Playboy magazine that mostly showed women in lingerie, or topless, and a woman’s nether regions were still a sacred mystery. Now any kid can get the raunchiest hardcore without even sneaking out behind the barn.

This thread is graphic enough, but deliberately blinding a woman or covering her hair and airways with something that must be washed off or washed out isn’t the most considerate thing to do, and does very little for her gratification (other than giving her the opportunity to demonstrate how willing she is to please her partner).

Same for the second one: for him it’s friction and a visual. For her it’s another opportunity for her to demonstrate her willingness to please, but those lumps of tissue being squeezed and mauled are very tender, very sensitive, and there is little if any chance she could achieve any gratification during the act.

Both acts are entirely about his orgasm and her willingness to please, and both can range from inconvenient to painful, and usually end leaving her high and dry. How many portrayals have you seen of a woman using a man’s body part (other than the penis) to achieve friction induced orgasm and walking away with no concern for his gratification? I’ve never seen that one time. I wouldn’t even know how to search for such an act.

Someone’s been doing it wrong.

ETA: Any woman who has dated a man with a beard is slow to complain about the mess made by a facial.

I find it interesting that I say facial and you read ‘deliberately ejaculating in her eyes’.

Couldn’t you say the same of cunnilingus?

Again, I say tittyfucking and you read ‘mauling of breasts’/
