Today, I was trying to enjoy my toast with cream cheese. Instead of biting into a smooth, creamy tasting spread, it tasted like I poured the whole salt shaker on the toast. When I looked at the label on the cream cheese, I noticed that it was expired for a month. :o
So my question is :
Why does expired cream cheese taste so salty?

You just bit into one reason you shouldn’t use salted butter when baking. The salt hides the fact that the butter may have gone rancid. But when you bring the finished product out of the oven it becomes all too obvious that the stuff went bad.
