Maybe that’s how he got his start, who knows, but I think the next movie he gets will be behind the 16 Academy Award nominations for the ones he blackmailed his way into.

Actually, I wish like hell I had seen it in La Jolla. Pre-Mamet and mostly sticking to the original concept album. Although, I coulda done without “Little Island”. No place for it. And my fave is “Sandman’s Coming”. I’m also quite fond of “Northern Boy”.

Sure, he’s got clunkers. But who doesn’t? I’d take average Newman over almost anything out there.
If you have watched Monk on TV in the last couple of seasons, you heard Randy Newman singing the opening music, It’s a Jungle Out There. The earlier shows opened with somebody else’s solo guitar piece.
I had mentioned that in post #21; I have heard RN sing the Monk theme and in the various Pixar flick soundtracks.
And I stand corrected; one of the mods answered my query about thread closures. You learn something every day.
