[Expletive Deleted] You, The Rain

I started a light-hearted thread on this a week or fifty ago, but it’s not funny anymore. I’ve got a beach vacation coming up in four weeks, and it looks like the sucky weather isn’t going away any time during the Obama administration. Find me the asshole responsible so I can kick the ever loving shit out of him.

I swam to work this morning. I’m considering having my umbrella surgically attached.

Agreed, neighbor.

My son asked me this morning, “How can it be a rainy day again?” I had no answer for him.

Three or four weeks straight here, with a break of only a day or two. Unbelievable. Yesterday it poured buckets and there was flooding everywhere. I only had to walk to my car, and I had an umbrella and the bottom of my skirt was still soaked.

What sucks is that on the longest days of the year, when we were getting the brightest sunshine of the year, I had to turn lights on in the middle of the day. It’s 9:08am, and the sky is black.

Feel free to send some to the Houston area if you want.

Take it! Take it all!

For some reason, DC weather seems to be really good when in other parts of the country it’s really bad. We’ve been having partly cloudy, 80s, not terribly humid weather with scattered afternoon showers for the past few days. Not bad, but of course, since it’s a holiday weekend and I want to be outside, I anticipate that regardless of the forecast, it will rain like a cow pissing on a flat rock the.whole.freaking.time.

San Antonio is undergoing a drought. Clear, blue skies as far as one can see, for days on end.

Sucks to be y’all. :stuck_out_tongue:

Seriously, what the fuck is going on around here? When did Boston get it’s very own monsoon season? It’s been raining forfuckingever, and if I recall correctly, even at his pissiest, God had a forty day limit.

Everything is damp, my sugar is clumpy, my nail polish won’t dry, and right now it’s dark as night, thundering enough that my cats are freaking out, and worst of all, 59 fucking degrees. I’m starting to get very, very cranky.

No rain, no rainbows.

::swims away at thirty Phelps::

Hey we’ll have some, it hasn’t rained here in yonks.

Just day after day of blistering heat

Up here in the rainy Pacific Northwest we’re expecting highs to get into the 80s and sunny skies.

In the “summer” of 2000, the last time there was no summer, I couldn’t even write myself a note. The pen would just tear the paper.

Want a dry vacation? I don’t get around to the Atacama Desert much. If you like, I can recommend a travel agent.

In the meantime, enjoy being soggy. And bite me.

Love,
The Rain

Yeah, Boston pretty much sucks right now. And it’s lasting at least through the weekend.

Oh, I remember that “summer”. It didn’t really rain, and it wasn’t warm (I don’t think the temperature went much above 70 degrees), it was just 837% humidity. For weeks. Many, many weeks. Everything was damp, all the time. Everyone looked like hell. Smells took on solid form. It was hideous.

For that matter, it rained most of last June, I think. I remember joking with my friend that his daughter’s softball season was going to run into October with all the delays.

I thought July was warm and sunny. I spent a lot of nights and weekends in the office wishing I was out enjoying the weather. But yeah, the humidity often reached 837%.

I finally got some time off on Labor Day weekend. The weather was like this.

Don’t feel bad, not only has there been rain for the last 2 or 3 weeks ( I lost count ), I had to light a fire in the woodstove in the garage yesterday so I could work on the truck. It was a balmy + 11 C!

My apartment had a bit of a leak over the front door. My landlord had the roof redone a couple months ago, but some of the wall needs replacing as well. They took the siding off, and were supposed to finish the rest while I was on vacation last week. Still isn’t done.

lorene! Long time, no read; hope you’re well.
