Explorer Stopped Working - Win 98se

My explorer is not working – My Computer, Control Panel – anything related to looking into my filing system is generating an error.

I made the mistake of downloading the new Kazaa, which brought with it aggressive applications (Gator, etc…). I since uninstalled, ran Search & Destroy and delete the junk, but the problem persists.

Before I uninstalled I noticed something – I received messages from my firewall about these apps asking for permission. Denying access resulted in that problem, while allowing them access to the web allowed me access to my filing system.

I tried experimenting with the firewall, but of no avail. Now it is always:

EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
module <unknown> at 00f0:07c7fc6e.

Ideas?

Wow - are you me?? That just happened to me a couple of days ago. I searched around the web and found a number of interesting potential candidates, but none of the proposed solutions worked. I ended up installing Win2K.

Sorry I’m not helping. Google “explorer module unknown” - the first hit is a M$ support doc.
