Esprix, how are you holding up?
I know the time before a move can be really stressful - especially considering the distance you’re going. You have a lot of guts, man! I really admire the courage it takes to do something like that. I freaked out when I moved from Chicago to Missouri a few years ago!

Well, considering my grandmother broke her hip, moved in with us, we renovated her house, my uncle killed her cat, I’ve been packing, my sister left her husband with her two kids, also moved in with us (and will be moving in with my grandmother into her house in a few days), and I quit my job yesterday, plus I don’t yet have a job for when I get there… I suppose I’m doing ok. {twitch}

Espirix! We have the same amount of days! I’m going back, for good, the 28th! oldscratch is coming out here to RI (egads) and we’re driving back to California. The 28th is our target leaving date, give or take.

Woo! I quit my job today too! Well gave my 2 weeks. And not only do I not have a job I don’t have a place to live out there! LOL I don’t think oldscratch or zyzz will let me be homeless though so I’m not worried. Go get 'em!

Sounds like you have enough to worry about, though. Hope you enjoy CA! My whole damn family is from there (still have relatives in Burbank, Sherman Oaks, Santa Barbara, Morongo Valley, and Cambria). My mom’s a West Hollywood girl herself, though I prefer the Bay area.
OK - I don’t leave until the 22nd, so let’s have lunch.
You, of course, would then have the distinct honor of being the only Doper to have ever met the Gay Guy. And even if/when I meet more in California, you’ll still always be the first (could be a .sig line for you to boot).

Why I do believe I have become a true Doper. I had a pit thread started in response to something I posted! Would it help if I told you I have 2 of my fingers taped together? I really do. Bashed them in the door the other day. And yes, it’s my s and x typing fingers. And, I type about 120 wpm as well. Geeks unite!
And as far as oldscratch goes, my dear, consider him stolen.
