What are some of the movies that you thought were so stupid that they should never have been made, yet were absolutely hilarious?
Two of my favorites are “Joe Dirt” and “Lone Star State of Mind”.
No question, my friend: Snakes On A Plane. When it comes to stupid movies, that’s my gold standard.
Freddy Got Fingered.
I have watched it probably dozens of times, and it never fails to crack me up. Tom Green is a genius of low comedy, if such a thing is possible, and created a film of near-Dadaist absurdism.

McHale’s Navy and The Cat and the Hat. Both were on the IMDB’s bottom 100, and I own both DVD’s, and whenever I’m in a bad mood, I pop them in. No matter how bad I’m feeling, they always cheer me up

I’m allowed to watch the above movies in the house when my wife is home, but I have to include The Three Stooges, Benny Hill, and The Naked Gun series are on her veto list. I’m not allowed to watch them if she’s in the room which means that they’re the first things to go into the DVD player when she’s gone out somewhere.
Anyone else a fan of Dead Or Alive AKA Brain Dead? Gotta love that movie. Way OTT blood and guts, with a healthy side order of humor.

Yeah, but that movie was a well-made instant classic. Not stupid at all IMHO.

Kung Pow: Enter the Fist. I wonder how they managed to convince anyone that this movie should be made. Part of me is glad they did because it’s stupidly hilarious.
Dumb And Dumber.
Diary of the Dead. Lots of people claim it’s really stupid, but I think it’s so stupid it’s brilliant. How do you argue with a line like, “Before, it was us versus us. Now it’s us versus them. Except them…is also us.”
I don’t know how stupid it is but There’s Something About Mary is about the funniest movie I have ever seen. I watched it in a movie theater when it came out and people, including me, were practically pissing ourselves and falling into the isles.
Tommy Boy was on twice tv yesterday, and I watched it both times.
I actually saw this with some friends when it came out and laughed uncontrollably almost all the way through, to the point of nearly disrupting the other viewers, and certainly puzzling the friends I went with (who enjoyed it as well, just not as much). I’m scared to rent it now, for fear it can’t possibly live up to this memory.
I really liked Road Trip and American Pie, but I don’t think either of them were all that dumb.
I’m pretty sure the bitter old dean will move this thread to Cafe society and then put it on double secret probation.
