Extremely vague description of comic book character - who is he?

I think he’s from a comic book, or a graphic novel of some kind, or an animated series. Maybe it’s French, maybe it’s Japanese.

The main character is… Immortal, maybe? Hangs out in Turkey? Or is it Egypt? Something mysterious about the man. Maybe he’s involved in some kind of secret society? I think he maybe wears a long scarf and/or has some kind of hat and/or is dressed in white or khaki or something.

I think his name is a single word, but I’m not sure.

I realise this is all extremely, extremely vague… But if you have any idea about who this dude could be, by all means - shoot!

And no it’s not Tintin.

Sounds like Zelazny’s “This Immortal” aka “And Call Me Conrad”.

The little prince?

Figured it out!

It’s Corto Maltese.

Thanks for the suggestions and sorry for the terribly vague description.

I’ve never heard of Corto Maltese, but the artwork from Hugh Pratt looks like it influenced Sean Gordon Murphy immensely, especially in Chrononauts.

Hunh. “Corto Maltese” is a country in the DC universe (Superman gets seriously injured there in “Dark Knight Returns” which puts him at a disadvantage against Batman in their battle) List of DC Universe locations - Wikipedia

Frank Miller used the name Corto Maltese in TDKR as a tribute to the Italian comic character/comic series.

Ah. That makes sense. Thanks.
