A few of my buddies and I were talking the other day, when the subject of sex came up. (Imagine THAT!)
Most of the guys said that they noticed that women tend to keep their eyes closed during the act. We wondered why. (My one friend suggested his wife does it because she hates to see him have a good time)
I know that sexually, guys are visual creatures. I thought that women might tend to close their eyes because, rather than being visual, they are more emotion oriented. (We’re getting deep here). What is the opinion of the Teeming Millions?
Okay, here we go…joemill just gave us another Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus explanation. “Men are visual, women are emotional?” That’s not deep. That is the ultimate in shallow. That is up there with “men like action movies, women like weepies.” C’mon joemill, I’ll bet you can do better than that!
Let’s take it from the top.
Why do women tend to close their eyes during lovemaking? Because men look like fucking idiots when they are doing it. Literally.
Good topic. I go with the “guys are visual” theory, too.
So who here closes their eyes when they kiss? I generally didn’t (hey, I like to see what I’m getting), but then I had a girlfriend who not only closed her eyes during a kiss (not unusual), but got really upset because I didn’t (unusual). (??? – She should have been flattered, one would think!)
So, ladies, would this bug you, too? Am I a mental case for wanting to keep my eyes open? I generally keep 'em closed, now, for fear of creeping someone out.
Both my lover and I keep our eyes open when we make love (which includes kissing and all those other hours of foreplay - yes “hours”). Why? Its very erotic to look into each other’s eys, knowing that you’re both “in the moment” and thinking of the other person. Try it, trust me, you’ll like it.
Seems like you guys like doing it with lights on too…how else would you know if her eyes are open? Also, you must be doing it missionary style unless she has eyes in the back of her head.
I have often closed my eyes during sex - not because of emotion - but because of the intensity of physical sensation. Sight can be distracting under those circumstances, and I’d prefer to stay focused.
Hate to point out the obvious, but if you do it woman-on-top or in many of the other ways that we non-contortionists can do it, you can still see each other.
When I’m on top (more in control)I tend to keep my eyes open and my bf tends to keep his closed, opening them periodically but not keeping them open all the time. And when he’s on top (or behind, whatever) I tend to keep my eyes closed most of the time and concentrate on the feelings and sensations I’m experiencing. I think that most people like to keep their eyes open when they are in control so they can see the expressions on their lover’s face and enjoy the fact that they’re giving their lover so much pleasure.
I don’t like it when a guy keeps his eyes open when he’s kissing me though! Don’t know why but that really creeps me out!
I keep my eyes closed for concentration, but I have noticed that he keeps his eyes open for some reason.
Sometimes it bothers me that I keep my eyes closed, because I don’t want him to think that I am seeing someone else in my mind. Why would I want to the man makes my body tingle everytime!
We do have a mutual unspoken agreement, that when it comes time for the first of many big O’s we look into each others eyes. Yeah, I know how touching!
Wait a minute. If her eyes were closed, how would she know…? Never mind. As to the original question, I can’t say. I keep my eyes open some of the time during sex, but when I’m experiencing a wave of pleasure of any kind, I tend to close them until it passes. I don’t know why I do this, I never really thought about it. I have noticed that this applies to any sort of pleasure, be it sexual ecstasy, a really good backrub, or finally finishing that computer program I’d been trying to write all week.
Heck is where you go when you don’t believe in Gosh.
I usually close my eyes simply because if I don’t I find myself concentrating on my lover’s facial expressions (wondering if he is enjoying it as much as me). I will open my eyes a few times, but I don’t just keep them open. I’ve even had a few guys through the years tell me they don’t like a woman watching them during lovemaking.
Lex you are sick guy, you need to close the eyes guy. You are supposed to be concentrating on the taste and texture of the kiss, not on the face.
I’ve learned that if someone says something unkind about me, I must live so that no one will believe it.
