I’ve been bombarded with promos for her upcoming special about her “heroic” struggle with cancer.
WTF knows, maybe it is heroic, but but the promo is just one long whine. “All I want is to LIVE! … It’s time for a MIRACLE!” Jeez, I would probably say the same shit myself, but I wouldn’t package all my self-pity into a network special.
I wish her luck, though she is on my Death Pool list.

“Heroic” or “hero” is becoming such a ridiculously overused word these days. I’d say a good 90%+ of what people would call heroism is just self preservation. How in the world could it possibly be heroic to survive cancer?

I didn’t even know her show was tonight when I started this thread, but I saw it listed on the channel guide. So I hope we’re mostly done.
I have a Google alert set for her and all my other death pool listees, so I will learn in fairly short oder when she kicks it. I have a whole bunch of cancer- and tumor-ridden celebs. Farrah, Bob Novak, Patrick Swayze, and Ted Kennedy – it might be a banner year for me. Plus Ariel Sharon and Fidel, who’ve both been circling the drain for a long time now.
