Facebook 'like' button suddenly noisy

So, before I throw my phone at the wall…

I use Chrome to access FB on my phone. As of last night, any time I tap the ‘like’ button, it makes a little noise. This… Is sub-optimal, to say the least.

Everything I’ve found on searches gives me ways to either:

-Turn off sounds in the FB app. I’m not using the app. I don’t -want- to use the app.

or

-Turn off all sounds on FB on Chrome. I don’t particularly want to do that, as I sometimes like to listen to videos of cats doing funny things.

So, before this drives me completely mad, anyone have any tips on how to make it so I can ‘like’ things without a little ‘boop’ accompanying any and all attempts to do so?

Thanks in advance!

Out of curiosity, why not?

IME the app functions way better than using Facebook through a browser.

Largely just due to curmudgeon-ness and a tendency to get really paranoid about how apps access things on my phone. Not saying using an app is wrong or bad, just hoping to get this fixed without having to place another app on the phone.

Oh come on ArrMatey! Join the collective. Resistance is futile!

Cool. If you are unable to fix your situation, consider trying the app. Easy Peasy, smooth as silk.
