How do you use Messenger on you PC? If you got to facebook.com via a browser then I don’t think anything is installed on your PC, it’s all part of the web page.

Messenger doesn’t show in my Win 10 list of Apps & Features. Neither does Facebook, for that matter.
Now, Microsoft Store shows both Messenger and Facebook as Apps that can be downloaded and installed. But, like the OP, I use FB via Chrome browser.
And I don’t think there’s any way to disable Messenger within Facebook.
