Facebook question: Batch of early birthday greetings on the first of each month?

“Jaspar” is a friend of mine on Facebook, and he apparently sends out early birthday greetings on the first of the month, for those who have birthdays that month. Or it’s possible he breaks it down into smaller blocks of time, like every five days. My birthday is on the fourth, and a different friend’s is on the fifth (not the same month), and we both got our HBD messages from Jaspar on the first of our respective months. I’ve noticed that not everybody gets their greeting from Jaspar on the first of their month, so as I say I’m not sure how he breaks it down. But it always does seem to be an early birthday wish, as far as I can determine.

My question is, does Facebook provide a tool to do this, or is he doing it manually? I can’t ask Jaspar directly because he’s a decent guy and I don’t want to look like I’m accusing him of sending out canned automated birthday greetings. Not that I’d blame him if he did; he has several hundred friends on FB. I don’t know him very well at all, yet he always remembers mine. So I imagine that each one of his FB friends does get an early happy birthday from him.

You can look up all your friends’ birthdays, and they’re helpfully grouped by months. I don’t know any way of sending automated birthday greetings, but I imagine it’s out there somewhere.

I doubt he automates it beyond maybe copying and pasting. My reasoning is that, while automated solutions exist, it makes far more sense to schedule them on the day instead of doing it early. That way they seem more personal.

I myself make sure to always give distinct birthday greetings to everyone–though I don’t do it for everyone, either. I usually only do people who are really important in my life or who I have actually talked with recently (even if only on Facebook).
