I just now got a three day suspension for something I posted in Dec 2019. Which I cannot see in any way was a violation of their “community standards”.*
And there appears to be no way to contest the suspension.

Can somebody explain to me why exactly FaceBook feels the need to prevent Revert Site from working? It did not block advertisments. It just made FB work in a way I prefer.
I could be wrong, but I think that Facebook Purity worked by telling Facebook that you were using some archaic browser that did not support the new look. However, it appears that Facebook has now taken away the old layout entirely, so you can’t revert to it.
From the site of Revert Site " Facebook have now disabled the loop-hole that this add-on used to get the old Facebook site design back. So this extension is not currently working. Please be patient while I investigate the possibility of getting it working again. BTW If you still want the old design, its possible if you are a Facebook Page or Group Admin, there should be a switch that lets you switch back for 48 hours on the Page/Group admin page. You could also try creating a Group or a Page, and see if you get the option to switch back."

Today, Facebook told me that my browser (it’s Chrome, the same browser I was using yesterday) is not compatible with Facebook, so they are serving me a simplified interface.
I suspect that this is a new tactic designed to get me to ditch F.B. Purity and Revert Site. Maybe I should just go ahead and get rid of Revert Site, since it’s not working anymore. F.B. Purity was still accomplishing some stuff by hiding things I didn’t want to see.

Well, I re-booted a couple of times, and removed F.B. Purity, and the regular site came back. Then I re-installed F.B. Purity, and it still seemed to be working.
I’ve been switched between old and new layouts several times over the past few days for no apparent reason.
This is really the outrageous bit. If they don’t want me to use the FB Purity extension they should say so right out, rather than blatantly lying about what they are doing.
In case anyone missed it in GQ, it’s just a setting in FBP that you have to disable. Click the FBP button in the Chrome toolbar, and turn off the option to revert to the old interface.
The way options like that tend to work is that they spoof an old browser so you’ll get the older versions. So, as far as Facebook knows, your are using an older browser.
Additional info: if you like the “simplified interface”, you can still get it. It is just the mobile version of the site, available at m.facebook.com.
The developer of Facebook Purity seems to have fixed things, at least for now. But to get the old layout, you have to use the separate Revert Site extension, not use “revert to original” option on FBP. I’ve installed Revert Site and have the old layout back, and use FBP to block the obnoxious features of Facebook.
Facebook would be totally unusable without FB Purity and Revert Site. I love that app. I hate Facebook and am getting really close to ditching it entirely.
Looks like Facebook is engaging in some new fuckery. Now I can’t get it to load on a browser where I have FBP installed. It loads right away with the new layout on a browser where I don’t have FBP installed.

Yes same problem. I have FBP and also the RevertSite extensions. Turned off the RevertSite and it now loads fine - new layout loaded with ads, but fine otherwise. I think facebook and I are going to be parting ways real soon - I’m so tired of this crap. Just gotta delete my stuff off there first. Anyone know a quick way to delete all photos, or am I stuck doing it one at a time?
I did find that by going to a direct link within my Facebook page from my history, I could get in.
