A meme I saw today says:
I could not find any corroborating evidence. Did this really happen? I was living in L.A. at the time, and I don’t recall hearing anything about it.
That same blog said that, when a male bee climaxes, its testicles explode and it dies, so I have my doubts about the veracity of the claim. I searched, and I could find no other source other than that same blog, and the blog listed no source for its claim.
With my Newspapers.com account, I looked up the Los Angeles Times for 1994. Nothing that approaches that meme. I even looked up other California papers in the 1993-1995 timespan, and the only thing even close to that is a few high schools using a Grim Reaper to dramatize drinking and driving.
