Emphasis mine - I’m thinking this might be the attraction for some men.
Female here. I like the look on me and on other women. I think dark roots with blonde hair can look fantastic (although it can also look bad).

I don’t find it unattractive though I’m far more often attracted to brunettes and dark features in general.
I’m more of a black or red hair fan myself. But I will say I find it strange to see an Asian with dyed blonde hair. Like this or this or this.
Meh, I really couldn’t care less what woman do with their hair. I went through that whole list and literally my only reponse was: meh, looks alright…with the exception of 'Ummm forget her name" and in that picture, the hair isn’t what drew my attention.
So I guess my advice would be to do whatever makes you feel good but be warned, I’m probably not going to notice unless you shave it right off.

I’m a guy, and this is just how I feel about women’s hair. Do what you like with it, it’s hair fer chrissakes. It can change color, you cut it, it grows back.
I like when a woman changes her look with her hair, I don’t think it’s an insecurity or a weakness, or compensation for anything. To me, it’s a woman saying, it’s MY frigging hair, I’ll do what I like with it.

Some women look pretty with blonde hair when they are young but I don’t think blondes age worth a damn. I have always gone for brunettes myself and that is a better long-term bet.
I have a friend with hair just like Peta Wilson and yeah, it’s very hot.
Of course, hers is naturally that color, but whatevs. If a woman wants to make her hair look like that I say go for it. It’s hot, yes.
I’m all about inner beauty and personality. Consequently, I could care less about the hair.

Just to throw some science into this - I’ve read that “men like blonds” because even natural blonds tend to go darker as they age, and therefore blond is a sign of youth, which is of course attractive due to the ability to produce offspring. Blond hair evolved in a climate where really only hair was visible because everyone was covered up due to the cold hiding the normal sexual features, so it was the only sexual feature women had.
Might be. But it’s also, apparently, naturally occurring from time to time. I’ve got a daughter asleep a few rooms over who’s hair is bright yellow all around. It’s amazing to me, but there it is.
And, given that she’s three, I’m relatively sure she’s not using bleach.

Eh, women have been trying to dye their hair blonde since Roman days. There are some extant recipes for hair bleaching from the 16th century that use everything from goat urine to vinegar. The recipes then instruct the user to sit in the sun for many hours. With goat urine on her head.
If anything, I would say that the more recent trend for peroxide blondes is a hell of a lot better than goat urine ones.
