Well, I decided to start a new thread instead of dragging the other one back up. I got the call from Arbitron today about my salary. And it was ABOVE the range I said I wanted. The woman said “I think you can do this job, and it’ll be tough. I figured that this is what I offered everyone else, so I’ll make the same offer.” And I know this is the amount she offered my roommate, who has a year more experience than I do.
AHHHHHHHHHH!!! I’m bouncing off the walls. Just faxed back my acceptance letter, so I can now submit my resignation!!! WOOOOHOOOO!!!
WOOOHOO!!! Congrats on your new job Falcon. Don’t do anything rash with your current one. When you resign do it well as it will be your first big reference.
Congratulations, Falcon!! You’re beginning to remind me of those commercials where the people go to buy a house and the previous owners put in a pool for them or Ringo Starr shows up to entertain. Too good to be true? Not for people who deserve it.
Maybe you’ll get a new wardrobe allowance, a company car, a personal expense account, a hot male assistant, free catered lunch every day and free use of the company gym. And the 10% raise after three months. I wouldn’t be surprised.
I’m so happy for you.

The best thing about this is, in my experience when things have been rough and then take a turn for the better, they very often go on getting better for some time. Which means you can look forward to more pinch-me-I’m-dreaming stuff in the days to come.
I was going to force you to sing “I Will Survive” at the karaoke bar this Saturday, but I’m starting to think “My Way” is more appropriate.
You deserve it, you earned it, and it’s damned well time that something good happened for you. I hope things just keep getting better. Congratulations!
