loved the visual of the tower coming down and then being replaced by a CITY SIZE ship.
Cant figure out what they are going to do next season - and they just introduced ‘magic baby’… this can’t be good.

Jeepers, this show must have the longest gap between seasons of any show ever. And it’s not like it’s such great television. Next summer? I could be dead by then.
Who will undoubtedly grow to smokin’ hot adulthood in the interseason gap, and will become the savior of the planet.
If that happens, the only way for the writers to avoid cliche hell is have her continue to age, and she dies elderly at 2 years old, or because of the human-alien DNA incompatibilities, she develops an unstoppable form of cancer.
I hate the “human alien hybrid kid” who either defeats the aliens or brings the aliens and humans together. That’s right up there with kids or robots for comic relief in science fiction.
Magic baby ruined V (the 80’s version), I can’t believe they stooped so low on this show as to bring one in.
But overall I’ve really been enjoying this show.
Indeed.
I swear I started yelling “Pretenama!” at the screen when Starchild Part Deux healed Lourdes.
I then turned to my imaginary co-viewer and said, in hushed tones, “In our language, it means ‘peace.’”
You call it “corn”.
As soon as I saw Lexi, now rapidly-aged into a much older child, I immediately thought of both versions of “V”, each of which featured a human/alien girl who also aged in steps, at a greatly-accelerated rate.
The original V miniseries would have been better if they’d cut off much of the ending. The story was really over as soon as they had released the bacteria that were fatal to the aliens but harmless to humans, insuring that the aliens were defeated once and for all. All that was needed after that point was a little bit of an ending to show the aliens either fleeing the planet in a manner that made it clear that they were never going to return; or else simply dying off.
The spiteful attempt by one alien to have one of the ships self-destruct, to destroy the Earth, only to resolve it with the very badly-done deus ex machina in which the little human/alien hybrid girl waves her hands and starts glowing and the self-destruct is stopped; just seemed entirely pointless. It really served no purpose but to add another several minutes to the length of the miniseries; minutes would could have been put to much better use by filling them with a few more really lame commercial advertisements.
As far as what they will do with Lexi next season, I suppose there is plenty of potential for her to turn out to be every bit as lame as how they used the human/alien hybrid girl in the original “V”, or perhaps they might make bvery good use of her. We’ll just have to see.
I guess there’s an obvious purpose to aging her from an infant to a child in such a rapid manner, however implausible this might actually be. It would be quite difficult for them to have an infant playing a major role in the plot; so if they want her to do so, it makes sense to age her quickly to a stage where she has much greater ability to act and communicate.
Jesus, I’m glad I didn’t watch that.
Since the writers seem to like having the hoo-mahns in the deepest possible shit all of the time, my first thought was that she HAS to be there to gain there trust and ultimately screw them. Why else would they be returned right after Volm were involved in the fight?
I have to admit I did fast forward over some of the dialog so I may have missed something.
nope - didnt miss anything - or if you did, I did too…
There is a very real and practical benefit of rapidly aging kids. The older the actor is, the easier they are to work with because of US and Canadian law regarding child actors. The same thing happened in the soap operas my wife watches, where a kid goes from birth to high school grad in 3-4 years.
I didn’t understand what’s going on?
wasn’;t just you…
Group is leaving from the base, as per last season’s finale.
Aliens chuck down the electric fences, splitting the party into 3. Four months pass.
2a. One set of the party, Tom’s, gets thrown in jail, in the prison encampment.
2b. One party, the alien/human hybrid girl group, establish their hippy commune.
2c. Matt gets kidnapped by Nazis.
I liked all the new special effects, though.
I’m done with this show. That was awful beyond words.
Don’t we need a new thread for this?
I doubt there will be more than a dozen or two posts. Not worthy of its own thread.
Unless the season picks up amazingly.
That seems to be what it is about, now.
