I seem to remember she looked smoking hot fellating the bad guy’s fingers in the remake of Cape Fear.
This would be a more interesting thread if everyone posted who they did think was attractive as well as who they didn’t.
OK, attactive: Emmy Rossum.
Not attractive: Nicole Kidman. Especially when she shows her fluorescent bare legs.
And Christopher Titus. Dear Og, what a beautiful man.
fatgail, I’m with ya on Johnny Depp. When he was on 21 Jump Street, I was checking out the Oriental guy. (Okay, and sometimes Peter DeLuise).
I don’t know if people really think Bruce Willis is attractive, but the thought that anyone might makes my skin crawl. Everything about him repulses me.
Richard Gere reminds me of a proboscis monkey. Tom Cruise and Mel Gibson have always been too pretty-boy bland. Michael Douglas is my eternal pet hate, though. I can just about see what others see in the ones I don’t find attractive, but Michael Douglas? Eeeww.
FTR I appreciate the attractiveness of Harrison Ford (especially in Witness) and to an extent Keanu Reeves and Johnny Depp, George Clooney and even Nick Cage at times. For personality and sense of humour and despite their looks - Jools Holland, Tony Slattery and Hugh Laurie.
Russell Crowe. I just don’t see anything at all handsome about him.
StG
Good idea. I don’t find Kevin Costner, Mel Gibson or Michael Douglas attractive, while Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and especially Johnny Depp are smoking.
I do have to say that I love SMG in Buffy. And I do think she is attractive. Maybe not the most attractive. But she is attractive IMHO.
What does sexuality have to do with physical attractiveness?
Courtney Cox & Jennifer Aniston both look like unmade beds. Lisa Kudrow was way hotter than the both of them put together.
And Daryl Hannah. How did that unmade bed get both Jackson Brown & JFK Jr?
Johnny Depp is the most perfect physical specimen I’ve ever seen. Also hot are Mark Ruffalo, Ralph Fiennes, and Christian Bale.
I once heard someone say that Brad Pitt looks like he smells. Now it’s all I think when I see him. Matt Damon has a pig face and I can’t believe he was named Sexiest Man Alive.
Nah, that jip looks like a weasel on a stick.
Never understood what people see in Tommy Lee Jones or Jack Nicholson.
To be quite honest, a lot of the celebrities I consider “unattractive” are still pretty attractive-- they’d probably stand out in most crowds, and I’d probably crush on someone who resembled one if I met her out dancing or something. Problem is, it’s in the idealized world o’ celebrity that I claim them to be unattractive-- they’re usually starring alongside other actresses who are, per the story, not as attractive, yet who are IRL more attractive.
Anyway, that little caveat out of the way, I’ll name one actress who actually breaks the above rule, as I truly find her unattractive: Renee Zellweger. She looks like she’s going into anaphylactic shock.
I’d love to know what streets you’re walking down.
Exactly. One article I read (which was bashing her) called her “a woman’s ideal of a sexy woman.” She’s skinny with big boobs relative to her body type, she wears great clothes and shoes and has nice hair…only problem is, she’s fugly. It’s like putting 20" rims and a Bentley hood ornament on a 1993 Yugo.
I find so many actresses unattractive simply because they are Hollywood skinny. If I can count ribs, or see a jutting collarbone, it is a turnoff. For example, Kayleigh in Firefly was much better than Kayleigh in Serenity. Never even close to fat, just proportioned like a normal, sexy woman in the series. When canceled, she slimmed down to Hollywood weight and remained there for Serenity.
Basically, I can pick any show I watch (as they will all have the “hot chick” somewhere), and be dissatisfied compared to many others because she is too skinny. See Pushing Daisies, Chuck, and Sarah Connor Chronicles for examples.
Keira Knightley -
She looks like a bonobo from Dachau. She always has on a face that looks as if she were making monkey noises, and of course has the body of the sloth victim from Se7en. A while back she was voted in some British paper as the sexiest woman in the UK, which makes me feel extreme sympathy for the English.
This is who I wandered into this thread to dis. Pam is like a walking checklist of my dislikes.
Fake boobs? Check.
Dyed fake-looking platinum hair? Check.
Too much makeup? Check.
Plastic surgery victim? Check.
Ugly tattoos? Check.
Unnaturally proportioned? Check.
Sure, she’s decent-looking. No argument. But like Student Driver says, in a world of gorgeous celebrities, she sticks out as not gorgeous. She’s pretty, but she’s average pretty. Nothing special.
That’s what people miss. I mean, in this thread we have people saying “eww”, “ugly”, “skank” and worse about people hotter than anyone you’re likely to meet, because they compare them to other celebrities. I honestly see nothing particularly attractive about Kevin Costner, but you won’t hear me saying “eww” or calling him ugly. He’s not ugly. Nor is Sarah Michelle Gellar, she’s just nothing to go ga-ga over, and way too many people do.
EDIT: SMG means submachinegun. She’s not that either.
Cindy Crawford – great bod back in the day, but her face looks strange and kind of artificial.
