Fantasy football general discussion

LT had 55 yards on 13 carries against Oakland, or 4.2 yards per carry, and a touchdown. He tweaked his ankle late and didn’t play much.

I don’t understand why all the talking heads think this means LT is done. He played pretty well, and now he’s injured. It isn’t complicated.

That said, I would bench him this week because as of today he’s in a walking boot, which doesn’t bode well for his productivity.

OK.

Note that I’d didn’t mean cut as in drop him from the team, just cut as in bench this week.

Oh, gotcha.

What was weird is that the Rams barely used Jackson in the passing game last week. Hopefully that will be rectified. And yeah, Ravens seem to want to use Rice as the between-the-20s guy, then use McGahee or McClain as the goal line back. Sigh, such is the life of the RBBC…

Heh, oops. Peyton. I wouldn’t touch Eli.

Damn…a guy in our league just dropped Santana Moss. Only two people above me on the waiver priority. Hopefully they’re asleep at the switch. Santana Moss <-> Jeremie Maclin.

Along the same lines, a guy in our league dropped Braylon Edwards. Worth trying to pick up? Brady Quinn seems to dislike him…

Look at it this way, is Braylon Edwards better than your worst bench receiver?

So, after weeks of preparation; studying depth charts and planning a draft strategy, my team is in shambles. I should have auto-drafted. I managed to squeak out a win last week, but right now I have:

Old, shaky guys: Kurt Warner, Torry Holt (WR4)
Getting older and injured guys: LaDanian Tomlinson, Anquan Boldin, Cadillac Williams (FA)
Younger, but injured guy: Antonio Bryant
Untested rookie: Knowshon Moreno
Suspended guy: Marshawn Lynch
Should-be-on-the-Bench but are Starting guys: Mike Bell, Robert Meachem, Darren Sproles
Still good pick guys: Calvin Johnson, Joe Flacco (QB2), Dallas Clark

That’s it. 3 “still good guys” after 1 week. I’m ashamed.

Is Rashard Mendehall or Kevin Faulk worth a pickup?

Alternatively, I can drop A. Bryant (I keep hearing whispers he’s hurt worse than they’re saying) and pick up his stable-mate, M. Clayton. While no superstar, he is a #1 WR on that team. Devery Henderson is also available, but I already have Meachem, and I think it’s a toss-up between those two for Brees-scraps.

I chalk that up to Brady being pissed about the ND/Michigan game last week.

I think so. I ended up dropping Steve Smith (NYG) and Kenny Britt for Braylon Edwards and Brandon Marshall on waivers. Hopefully one of those guys returns to form. I think I can let Kenny Britt sit in FA for awhile, he’s only owned in 12% of the ESPN league.

Well, L.T. is definitely not going to play this week (though you probably heard that). I’d definitely run Addai, and probably Sproles over Jackson in the #2 spot if those are your options.

Too bad it wasn’t before Week 1. I say hold onto Warner and try to trade him after he has a good game. Boldin should still be a decent starter for you. Lynch should be good once he returns from suspension. Bryant you can probably let go of. After Lynch returns you’ll have a core of Flacco/Lynch/C. Johnson/Clark, and needing another RB and WR or two. Hopefully you can grab one from the Warner trade, and either Sproles, Bell or Mareno turns into a every-week guy.

You play in a silly league, sir.

Tough choice in the All-Pro league. I picked two good defenses to hold onto and play matchups with all season. My choice this week, however, sucks balls:

Jets against New England
Philly against New Orleans

Doh!

The Jets, with their aggressive style, are at least likely to pick up sacks in this game. I’d go with them.

Absolutely. There is nobody else to throw to on that team, so while I’m not a particularly big fan of Edwards I think he’ll post at least 1,000 yards this year.

Your team is not that bad. Cadillac had all-but-100-yards last week, plus a touchdown, and the Bucs’ new zone blocking scheme seems to suit him perfectly. I’d start him today.

Michael Clayton is certainly not a #1 receiver, even if Bryant is out. He hasn’t posted over 800 yards since he was a rookie, and last week was an aberration. Bryant is the unquestioned #1, and is worth holding on to even if he misses a couple more weeks. The injury is the same one that sidelined him during the preseason, and he was able to play the first half last week.

Can you pick up the Falcons for one week?

Need opinion fast! As my flex guy today, I can use Knowshon, Mike Bell, Devery Henderson or R.Meachem.

Pierre Thomas is active but doesn’t look like he’ll be getting that much action. Bell is probably the safest pick there, I’d go that way.

At the last minute, I swapped out Eddie Royal for Mike Bell in the dynasty league. The edit was rejected because I was like 10 second after the deadline. Historically speaking, if I miss starting a player by 10 seconds so that I can kick myself over it endlessly, they will score 70 to 80 fantasy points.

Motherfucker.

I take back everything I said about the “My Fantasy Teams” iphone app. Both leagues in which I have Wes Welker, I replaced him. Guess who’s back starting on my roster in both leagues? Fucking hell…
