Brandon Marshall was the #2 to Sims-Walker’s #1 (then he was just Walker) in college. He’s that good.
He’s the real deal- a bunch of injuries kept him off the field before now, not an inability to produce, and if you’re wondering why he didn’t register any stats in Week 1, it’s because Troy Williamson started opposite Torry Holt, and the Jags hardly ever run three-wide sets.
Williamson is now on IR, for the record.
All that being said, you’d be crazy to trade Jennings for him straight up. Marshall for Johnson is a good trade for you if you’re in a non-PPR league. If you get PPR, I’d take my chances with Marshall.
Last week Mike Furrey (WR) played safety for the Browns and did a surprisingly good job at it. In one of the leagues on yahoo, my opponent is starting him. If Furrey were to get an interception on defense, would it count for anything? The league has no IDP scoring, so I’m guessing no. If it did have IDP scoring and interceptions were worth something, would it reward it to wide receiver?
Don’t see why not. If an offensive player forces a fumble while the other team is returning an interception, then scoops it up and returns it for a touchdown, your defense gets a TD.
Similarly, if your tight end throws a TD pass you still get credited for it.
I’m not sure INT as a stat under D/ST scoring applies to individuals. If you had both team defenses and IDP, I think you could have the interception value for each be different. Since we have no IDP, the individual int score is undefined.
I doubt the situation will come up, I’m just curious.
Is this a good week to bench Steve Smith (NYG)? The combination of likely coverage by Asomugha and the Eli foot issue makes me wonder if he’s a poor play this week.
McNabb is my #1 QB and he’s back this week, but Favre is playing like a man possessed. They both are playing against woeful defenses (Favre against St. Louis and McNabb against Tampa), but I didn’t even expect this to be a question when McNabb went down.
Right now, I’m leaning towards Favre because Tampa Bay is slightly more woeful than St. Louis.
I would be leery of McNabb just because he’s still not fully healthy and there’s a chance he’ll get yanked as early as halftime. Favre won’t come off the field even if the Vikings are up by 50 because he still has to work on his timing with his receivers.
I actually think Smith will be less affected by the loss of Eli than, say, Manningham and Nicks. Smith is a possession receiver, not a speed guy; he and Kevin Boss by rights should be Carr’s best friend.
He might not score, but I think he’ll still be productive.
Does anyone know of a site that keeps track of current average draft positions for leagues that are drafting recently? I’d like to see how my current lineups compare to where the average position a player would be taken if drafted today are.
You know, I was just thinking about that when I was beaming down a Shatner yesterday. I’d like to see what the player’s prerank was, then their current rank according to the league’s scoring formats.
Actually, Yahoo does it, but if you search for all players, now that I think of it.
I’m not talking about their scoring rank, though. I want to see where they’re drafted in leagues who happen to hold their draft 4 weeks into the season.
Ah, yeah, I’d like to see that too. I seem to remember that at least one of those comes out from some fantasy publication, but I can’t remember which one for the life of me.
That might be fun actually as a hypothetical. Is there a way to reserve mock drafts on any popular sites? (rather than the typical fill up and go style)
Yes, offensive players get IDP points in leagues that have IDP. My favorite use of this was Jay Feely, who gets an unusually large number of tackles for a kicker. Or at least he did back in 05 when we did the precursor to the All-Pro league using IDP.
I’m pretty sure that’s not true, but I suppose it makes sense if it is. More specifically, the offensive player who scoops it up get credited with an “Offensive Fumble Return TD”, in case anyone was ever wondering what that stat meant. It doesn’t matter which team fumbles it; if your guy scoops up a fumble and scores, he gets those points.
But if the league only had scoring set for D/ST defenses, the interception wouldn’t count?
Btw, last week Varlos started a “week 4 sit/start” thread for handling those quesitons. Should we do that every week? I was just thinking that if we put all those questions here, this thread may get extremely long by the end of the season. Maybe we should have a seperate thread for sit/start questions specifically every week, and then use this thread for general FF discussion, bragging, venting, news, and what have you. Especially since a lot of us are in multiple SDMB leagues, we could post here general points that aren’t really pertinent to the individual league threads.
