Correct on the interceptions; players do not get credit for team scoring. Much the same way that if you played Troy Brown back in his ironman days, you wouldn’t get points for his sacks (if he got any) unless the league used IDP. I wonder if you could set up a league with 0 IDP players to enable those points for individuals while at the same time not including defenders in the player pool.
As for the thread size, I kinda like the one-stop shopping. I’ve only been getting on the dope a couple times a week, so I miss a lot of weekly threads. I use the “User CP” link at the top of the page to keep current with my subscribed threads, but sometimes I’ll have to bail halfway through checking them. Closing the browser updates them all as read and they no longer show up, so I don’t see them until the next post. That makes high-traffic threads much more reliably available to me. That’s just me, though.
Happened in 2003 during that epic Bucs-Colts MNF game where the Colts came back from 21 points down with four minutes to go - Keenan McCardell scooped up a fumble on an Indianapolis interception return and took it to the house. Initially NFL.com leagues scored it as a TD for McCardell, but they ruled later that McCardell was acting as a defensive player since Indy had taken over possession, so it was scored for fantasy as a defensive TD. Yahoo! scored it that way too. See [here](Fantasy players were up in arms regarding Buccaneers receiver Keenan McCardell’s 57-yard touchdown return after he picked up a fumble by Colts safety Mike Doss, who had intercepted a pass. The official NFL ruling: The touchdown goes to Tampa Bay’s defense because McCardell was on defense at the time of the fumble. The rich get richer.) and here.
Caused fights in a bunch of custom leagues- see here and here.
Actually I was thinking we could just do it in a thread. Whoever shows up makes the next pick and we’ll recap the “teams so far” at the end of each round.
OK, so do I start Brady or Eli Manning this week? Yahoo says Brady has more projected point, but that’s against the Broncos. Manning is facing the Raiders, and the matchup seems way softer. I was worried about Manning’s heel injury, but the reports are saying he’s fine and will start.
Do I play it safe and start Brady, or go with my gut and stat Manning?
The reports are saying he’ll start, but I’m hearing a lot about how it will hurt when he sets his feet to throw. Plantar fasciitis hurts like hell. I’d give Eli a week off.
And, Oakland is pretty good against the pass so the Giants will probably run a lot, with or without Manning. The Giants will also probably win by a lot, reducing the numbers of throws Manning would make in the 3rd and 4th quarters.
Play someone like Brady regardless of the matchup. The few times you’re right and your bench QB ends up scoring more will be far outnumbered by times Brady plays like himself.
I created a thread for week 5 sit/start questions. You can still post here if you want, or we can have a thread specializing in those questions each week. Vote with your feet.
I was offered Matt Hasselbeck, Santonio Holmes and Wes Welker for Joe Flacco and Steve Smith (NYG.) Basically, it comes down to do I want Welker and would he be a weekly start for me.
Right now Smith is getting more points, but that may not last. I hate to give up Flacco (Warner is my other QB.) Hasselbeck wasn’t even drafted in my league and I have no interest in him. Holmes probably wouldn’t get off my bench (Megatron, Boldin and Welker would be ahead of him, with Kevin Walter in the mix.)
I declined the trade but the offer’s still out there. Is Welker worth it?
Well, it’s not as useful as a list of average draft position, but Yahoo did come out with a new big board today.

In the all-pro league (12 man), I have the 1st, 7th, 11th, 14th, 23rd, and 39th most valuable players, so you’d think I’d be doing well. Nope, 1-3 record and 10th place. I’ve been trying to deal Marion Barber (11) for weeks because you can only start 2 RBs in the league and I have 6, including MJD/Pierre Thomas and no one will touch him.
In the auction league draft, I spent by far the least on my RBs in the draft, I spent only $51 on my top 2 backs, who are ranked 6th and 7th. At least in this league I’m doing well for it.

I decided to bench Donald Brown (RB-IND vs. TEN) in my money league in favor of Jerome Harrison (RB-CLE vs. BUF) whom I claimed from Free Agency while dropping Willie Parker (RB-PIT vs. DET - Out) in my money league. If this blows up in my face I’m coming for you SenorBeef.
This is a no win proposition for me. If he does well… well, then he just does well. If he does badly, it’s time to lynch SenorBeef.
He put up like 17 points for Varlos last week and I didn’t even receive a cookie basket.
Btw, I’m only willing to vouch that Harrison’s running skills are awesome. If they decide to give Jamal Lewis 20 carries so he can run into his guard’s back for 2.2 ypc that’s out of my control.
