Fantasy football general discussion

Aaaaaand boom goes the dynamite.

Man I got a tough call this week.
need 2 RB, 2 WR and a flex. Lots of good matchups this week and sleepers. If I bench Slaton it will guarantee a break out week :frowning: There is a good chance I will leave 50 points on the bench whatever way I go.

RBs
Michael Turner
Steve Slaton
Knowshon Moreno

WR
Boldin
Santonio holmes
Kevin Walter
Derrick Mason

If it was me… I’d play Turner and Slaton, Boldin and Walter. (Disclaimer… I AM playing Boldin and Walter in my league. I’m playing Moreno too, but I don’t have better options like Slaton and Turner.)

Yup. The most popular and user-friendly mock draft site on the internet (mockdraftcentral.com) allows you to do that.

Joseph Addai or Ricky Williams?

Bench Eli Manning, huh? Great advice, guys. Really top notch stuff.

Flacco/SS is much better than the other three guys. Are you in a PPR league? That’s the only way I can even make sense of Welker being worth it.

It is PPR, but I don’t want to give up Flacco; and Smith seems like an equal to Welker or better right now,so I’m staying pat.

I had a 90 point lead at the end of the Early Games in my money league despite a pathetic showing from Harrison and Massaquoi. It’s all but evaporated in the first half of the Late Games and my 2 players in those games are being shut out. My opponent has 2 Jets in the MNF game too, it’s going to be a sucky week unless John Carlson can do something special in the second half in Seattle.

You’re welcome by the way. Hope you followed that excellent advice.

I’m in a reasonably tight struggle in one of my leagues this week. I’m slightly ahead right now, and the sole reason for that is that, ten minutes before kick-off, i decided to put Dallas’ Miles Austin into a W/R slot. Two touchdowns and 250 receiving yards later, he accounts for about 40 percent of my team’s total points.

I really needed it, after DeAngelo Williams managed a paltry 40 rushing yards and a lost fumble, Joe Flacco didn’t step up in a week when my first-string QB had a bye, and Willis McGahee’s recent string of profitable games came to a screeching halt with -2 yards rushing.

I kid, I kid. And yes, Brady is turning out to be more productive overall, but man! That first half from Eli was incredible.

I want to go slap Jack Del Rio. When was Mike Sims-Walker’s benching announced? I’m down over 60 points this week, with just P. Manning and Dallas Clark left to play… I’m bummed!

Yeah, but that’s the thing about those blowouts. Not a lot of passing in the second half.

I shouldn’t rub it in or put on any airs, though. My teams all suck. Every single one. And really, I should start asking for advice here because clearly I don’t know shit about fantasy football. I get to cuss after I might lose by 100 this week.

About 5 minutes and 30 seconds before kickoff, at least on NFL.com. I literally beat the roster lockout by milliseconds- and you can’t add anyone after 1:00 on NFL.com, so I’m stuck with praying Jerricho Cotchery mans up tomorrow.

Well, son of a penis bitch ass whore. Other than Turner the whole lot didn’t get 50 points altogether , so much for optimism.

Ironically, Manning and Brady each scored exactly 20.65 in my league. Turned out t be completely moot.

Week 6, Battle of the QBs. Eli Manning vs. Drew Brees. Who do I sit? Who do I start? I’m seeing no good answer here.

Please indulge my bitching for a moment. If not, move on to the next post.

This is my team in the all pro league:

QB David Garrard
RB Maurice Jones-Drew
WR Randy Moss
WR Anquan Boldin
WR/RB Pierre Thomas
TE Mercedes Lewis
K Jeff Reed
D/ST Philadelphia

Bench:
Marion Barber, Matt Hasselbeck, Knowshon Moreno, LeSean McCoy, Jerome Harrison, Mohamed Massaquio, Devery Henderson

Pretty damn awesome team, I’d say.

This week it had a projected score of 118.9, which I think is the highest projected score of any team this year. Certainly this week. My opponent had a projected score of 84.16. So I had a 34.74 projected lead - that’s gigantic in FF, it’s like having a 15 point spread in a real nfl game.

And my opponent actually scored 22 points under his projected score. The second lowest score of anyone in the league that week. Easy win, right? HAHA NO! Every player on my fucking roster had what seems to be career low days. I scored 54.20 points after being projected 118.9 with a star studded lineup, and I couldn’t even beat the 2nd lowest scoring guy in the league because I WAS THE LOWEST SCORING GUY. My team didn’t even hit 50% of their projected score - if they did, I would’ve won.

Now, if this were one bad week, that’d suck. But it isn’t. You see, despite having either the top projected score or 2nd highest projected score most weeks, I have 1 win and 4 losses. I am in 12th place in my league, with the best roster.

To put it in perspective, there been 5*12=60 fantasy teams scored in the league. I had the highest projected score this week out of any of those - first place out of 60. I also had the lowest actual score of all but 2 of those games - so third place out of 60.

I was very close to having both the highest projected score and the lowest actual score out of 60 games.
