Nice. I totally meant to start Cutler in the HHM league, but forgot all about it. I have to decide between Sanchez and Ryan, but it’s looking like a net gain at this point regardless.
RNATB - I’d totally agree with you regarding the marginal WR/RB last year, but I can’t do it this year. I think we’re in the midst of a shift to WRs. And the flex spot is a great spot for a gamble. (Of course, Omni’s #3 and playing #2 Varlos today, so really - who cares? )
If you’re going to gamble, then gamble. I can see starting, say, Robert Meachem in that spot, because any Saints receiver could go for 150 yards and 2 scores in any given week. Crabtree, on the other hand, is just… not. The 49ers don’t throw the ball downfield, and Gore hasn’t done enough this season to make defenses stack the box.
Speaking of which, Hamlet is going to beat me in the Dynasty league more or less by a Brandon Marshall. Who I gave him for free. Along with Adrian Peterson.
Oh, and both of my top-5-in-scoring-at-the-position running backs got hurt within five minutes of each other.
All they had to do was hold Manning to fewer than 4 touchdowns and i would have won my match-up this week. Then, in the last two minutes they fail to convert on 3rd and 2 and 4th and 2, give the ball up to the Colts, and let Manning fire a last-minute game-winner to sink both the Patriots and my fantasy week.
Gah, I have Ronnie Brown in 3 leagues and he went out on crutches. Even if it’s not that bad, he’s playing Thursday so he doesn’t have time to recover for it.
