Fartin' and burpin' in the MMP! Welcome to the Shortest Month in the MMP!

Two different companies. I ate a lot of both in my early 20s. I might have to pick one up just for old times sake. I think I used be be rather fond of them. The crust mix was fast and fool-proof, the sauce was passable with a little added oregano/basil/pepper flake and the base “cheese” powder wasn’t quite flavorless dust. So on went some shredded whatever cheese you had in the house.

Chickens do it all the time.

awwe they dont have the canned cheese and the canned sauce with pepperoni in it anymore? what heresy…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 44 Amurrkin out and rainin’, with a predicted high of 48 and rain all day. ICK! Good day to be inside and dry. In a little while I shall make bizkits and snausages just cause. I even remembered to set the butter out to soften. Go Me! Boxed lasagna (don’t judge!), sallit, and cheesey garlic bread shall comprise sup. Outside of that, 'twill be a day of sloth.

{{{Miss_Owl}}} as others have said, I miss ruble sump’n fierce. GC gets kudos for his offer. Mighty nice and sweet of him!

I also remember a brand of boxed pizza called Appian Way. I remember gettin’ the box for around a buck back in the day.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants me to make with the bizkits and snausages already! Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

I had a better night last night, so this morning, I’m rested and rarin’ to go!! When I take FCD’s delivery out to his shop, I’ll check the pellet stove, but I think it should be good for another day or two. I’m going to dust and vacuum and clean the kitchen - things are a bit messy… just a bit… There are a few other things I’d like to do, but we’ll just have to see how much energy I have.

We’re promised low 50s today, then snow overnight and tomorrow - potentially up to 5", tho I think that’s unlikely. Still, I don’t expect to go outside much. We’re pretty much set for groceries, unless FCD tells me he’s bringing his folks back with him. I’m going to suggest he not come home before Moanday because of the weather. Plus having to go to Orlando and back again today, he’s going to be tired of driving for sure.

OK, time to read the funnies and psyche myself up for a day of domesticity and house-cleaning crap! Happy Saturday!

Didn’t sleep well last night, because Stoopit Brain just had to chew on an interpersonal issue I’m having at irk … repeatedly. A solution has been arrived at, should the issue arise again - we won’t work together again for a while, so someone else might get through to him first - but this morning, I am groggy and irritable, and would like very much to simply go back to bed.

It’s also the coldest day so far in my nearly-year in Michigan - we may get up to 18 F tops - and I’m likely to be working outside today, so just super fun. :no_mouth: Saturdays are always busy, and TPTB are expecting/hoping for even higher sales today, since tomorrow is apparently some sort of season finale of sports.

In better news, there’s a bottle of coffee in my fridge. Despite it being a chilled beverage on a cold day, I think some mocha caffeine is called for … I’ll fix a big travel mug full of hot tea at irk to counter balance it.

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s grey outside and overcast, the weather app says “What can I fucking say? It’s chilly outside and there are some fucking clouds in the sky”, whilst promising me 2C/36F up to 6C/43F mostly cloudy with fog. No fog, but that’s not a bad thing.

The nice new solicitor sent me a load of info yesterday and said they have finalised everything except on investment that mum took out which has me as the life assured. I know she was advised to do it by her account manager at the bank, and we’ve had confusing info back from the company themselves, neither they or the financial adviser I talked to have got what I’d call a proper answer. Anyhoo, I’ve suggested they just cash it in and split it between me and my brother. If he knows there is a sum of money that isn’t coming to him, he will argue tooth and nail for his perceived right to it. To be honest, I don’t think mum intended him to have any of it, and was under the impression that the policy had an internal trust to prevent it, but she wasn’t specific in her Will and I am not inclined to get involved in a long and bitter wrangle with him over it. He treated mum exceptionally poorly during her life and I’d just as soon kick him out of mine at the earliest opportunity.

That’s my drama for the day, I plan to go and spend the rest of it with a good book.

Just heard from FCD - inlaws’s appt is at 10, but they arrive at 8:45. I suspect they don’t trust the system and they’re allowing time to argue. Florida sucketh.

And it looks like we could get as much as 6" of the evil cold, white stuff overnight and into tomorrow. Swell. Here’s hoping the bay and the 2 rivers on either side of our county will moderate things enough that we don’t get that much accumulation. I don’t hold out a lot of hope, tho.

OK, time to do chores. rah.

Morning all, all the sleep yesterday got me up at 6:30am today, soccer starts in about 2 hours so I’m eating my breakfast BLT’s now so they can finish digesting before I start running about. We’re in the ‘50’s’ stage of the year, because the high never gets about 59F. Rain tonight and tomorrow, possibly mixed with snow (oh joy). Still haven’t had any snow left on the ground this year, maybe this time…

boo fae, glad things are getting settled, and I agree with your actions re: brother; the cost of ‘winning’ would be greater than any monetary benefit, IMHO.

shoe, hope issue is resolved without you having to feed cow-orker to Pretzel… And one thing I don’t miss about living in the Northern states is the chill factor…dress warm.

Can’t add to the discussion, since I never eat pizza (!!!). Just never had a taste for it.

OK, need to finish eating and then have about 90 minutes before getting ready for the soccer. All y’all take care.

Good afternoon everybody!

Yesterday got together with a friend who just finished quarantine. Hadn’t seen her since before Christmas, so that was nice.

Woke up this morning to a reddish sky, which has persisted. It’s due to the dust from the Sahara and is rather disturbing. Sort of reminds me of the yellow sky before a thunderstorm, but not so intense.

This morning cleaned the bathroom sinks and then we went for a longer walk. Made honey garlic chicken and pulled out home made lasagna from the freezer to thaw for tomorrow’s lunch.

Would like it to rain, just to get the sky back to normal, but that’s not happening until tomorrow. Here’s a link with a picture, which is fairly close to what I’m seeing outside.

{{{Miss_Owl}}} Hard to believe it’s been a year.

I had no idea you were a commie Rat!!! :open_mouth: The very idea - not liking pizza!!! :open_mouth:

Incidentally, if any of you felt a disturbance in the force, it’s because I just finished dusting and vacuuming the common areas of the house, plus I pushed the vacuum into the bedrooms. Kitchen is next on the list, but not till after I have some lunch.

FCD just called - his folks have been shot and they’ve got appointments in 3 weeks for their second doses. He’s staying there at least thru Tuesday for his dad’s next Dr appt, and with luck, he’ll persuade them to come back here with him. Fingers crossed…

Now, do I forage in the fridge or treat myself to a carry-out lunch? That is, do I want to venture out? Tough question - it’s really gray and cold out there. And I have plenty of food here. Decisions, decisions…

Since you’re likely already dressed, carry out. :stuck_out_tongue:

nellie, that’s a cool rolling pin.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, a load of towels and sheets ready for the dryer and a warm little dog on my lap. It’s cold, so it will likely be an indoor day.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

{{{{Miss Owl}}}}

When do you hold your event? The Feast of the Hunters’ Moon is in the fall; hopefully they won’t have to cancel again this year.

Metal Mouse, I’ve already started a list: Screen name, MMP name, real name if a Facebook friend, age, and location.

shoe, I lived in southern MI until I was twelve. In those days it wasn’t really winter if the snow wasn’t knee-deep.

boofae, what does your weather app say in non-vulgar mode? The same thing, less the F-words?

Currently 41F (wind chill 32), high 40, low tonight 25. We have a winter storm warning for 0600-2100 tomorrow, with 5-9 inches of snow possible. Wonder how much we’ll get this time. At least we don’t have flood warnings, too.

He wasn’t really bothering me, but my curiosity bump was vibrating. I’ll just delete the ask.

{{{{{Miss Owl}}}}}

When we make pizza at home we like to do barbequed chicken with onions and bell peppers (green and red). Sometimes other stuffs too. Mushrooms? Pineapple? Whatevers?

Wifey has a zoom meeting so I’ve gotta get off this machine.

Afternoon everyone. It’s laundry day here, so, yay. I had to shovel out to the dryer vent, it was under about a foot of snow and wasn’t able to melt its way free.

I like VanGo, that’s funny. Is there a list of MMP nicknames and origin stories anywhere?

BTW, Paintcharge was the job I had when I first got email, I was the head scenic artist at a theatre, i.e. the painter in charge.

Apparently the bread machine people are trying to foist low-salt eating on us. I added 50% more salt and with using extra virgin olive oil that tastes like something vs vegetable oil that tastes like nothing, the bread is much improved.

A small pile of chicken thighs has been boned and are now getting happy with some spices and balsamic. Tonight they’ll be baked and served up with pasta and marinara. The bones and skin are simmering away now to become stock and schmaltz.

Lunch was the last of the leftover ravioli. Now I’m having an apple. I’m thinking I might order supper from Salsa’s - their Pollo Fiesta is quite good. Or I’ll make a salad here. Still too early to decide.

Meanwhile, I’m knitting and watching season 5 of A Place Called Home. Apart from Higgs and her occasional barking fits, it’s a nice, quiet afternoon.

Worked, hit the grocery stores, came home, doing laundry and cleaning the bathroom. One of the things I had to pick up was some Frosty Paws because…
HAPPY 15TH-ISH BIRTHDAY/GOTCHA DAY GORDIE!

{{{{{Miss_Owl}}}} I miss Ruble, too.

FCM, that’s some crazy stuff with the in-laws.

Why do you hate America?

Also the washer is having one of it’s moods, and is pondering whether or not to rinse. Which is not surprising, considering I’ve had it for 11 years, and it was old as dirt when I inherited it from a friend.

About ten years ago, Mrs. L.A. and I went to the Silver Reef Casino to take in the buffet. Either it was about to close, or it was closed, so we went to their Red River Café instead. I think I had a burger. We never did get round to going back. A week before SWMBO’s appendix exploded, we’d planned to go to The Steak House. Surgery put that on hold.

We finally made it last night. Only… Wifey saw the prices on the menu and took pity on me. Prices aside, it probably wouldn’t have been a good idea to go anyway. I wanted the carpaccio, escargots, a Steak House Salad, and steak au poivre. There’s be no way I could eat that much.

So instead, we went to the Red River Café again. She had chicken-fried steak so tender she could cut it with a fork. I had a New York steak. I ordered rare, but of course it came out medium rare. Oh, well. We each had two Manhattans.

Let’s not poison the nice snakey. I’m ophidiophobic, but wouldn’t want to do mean things to her.

Made the mistake last night of kidnapping a muscle relaxer from DH (hip was giving me grief). They don’t seem to bother him much, but it knocked me RIGHT out. I’m still woozy over 12 hours later. After the grocery order arrives, I may well go back to bed. Stayed home yesterday due to sore throat. I emailed sup and grandboss on the subject, sup calls a couple of hours later. Seriously? If I’ve told you I do not have an audible voice, what’s the point of calling me? If I were capable of being audible on the phone, I’d be at irk.
