Fat patient in the blood lab center

I’ll give you this one:

But I let myself have it for the obvious trollage, as I have a couple times in the past. (Even though it’s less an attack than a statement of what I believe is absolutely the truth. Most people direct the greatest hate and anger and reaction to things that to one degree or another are inside themselves. And, by the way, saying someone was or is or will be fat is not really an attack in my book, but whatever…)

The others, not really. Pretty much about the things that people have actually said. And especially not the ones where I refer to people’s pain! That’s entirely sincere! People who are nasty and vicious, especially with little or no legitimate provocation, are acting from their own pain, like a wounded animal that bites, and I am genuinely sympathetic.

I’ll take another look later to make sure, but right now I gotta catch up…

Ah, but a sympathetic personal attack is still a personal attack. I strove to only find quotes where you were attacking **the person **instead of their argument. If you want to prove me wrong, please demonstrate how each of the quotes I pulled addresses an argument.

What bothers me about this thread most, is the outright hate I see coming from some people (such as Bri1600bv in the OP), for people they don’t know, based on appearance, or “I’m better than you”, or some other horse shit.

You don’t like how “they” look? Then don’t look. You don’t approve of their eating habits? Mind your own business.

Get over yourselves. I doubt many of you would win Mister Olympia, or Miss universe either.

I have. Both of them. Seven times each.

You liked her post asking him to clarify what on earth he was talking about? Simple tastes, huh?

An exercise in ranting, perhaps. Perhaps I’m still trying to figure out why on earth he decided to start his insanity with me to begin with. The very first time he addressed me in this thread was to question and berate me about things that I didn’t say or even talk about.

Yes he provides facts and figures that Canada is less obese than America, but what about those impressed you that it backs up his claim that it is easier for Canadians to be fit? That was his claim. That it is easier for them. Since when is it that having the desired results mean that it was easier to obtain them? He said this without proof other than the end result statistics. Apparently that’s enough for him (and you?) to “prove” his theory. If that does it for you, great. For me, I’ll stick with needing proof before I believe something so silly.

Stop being a show off

Have I mentioned that I’m really humble, too? Oh yeah. Probably the most modest person you’ll ever meet. Ever.

Thank you.
(As for winning a “Miss/Mr. Universe contest” I’d like to point out that the OP still hasn’t shown us HIS picture yet, as I challenged him to do so)

PICtures, PICtures, PICtures! Mister Universe Trophies! We wanna see 'em.

Further thought and better explanations of my position:

My emphasis on personal responsibility and choice is not about saying “omg fatties ur fat cuz ur lazy lol stop eatin cookies kthx.” Demonstrably, genetics **do **play a role in how easy it is for you to gain or lose weight, to overeat, etc. However, the only way to overcome that imbalance is in the choices each person individually makes as to what to eat, how much of it to eat, how much to exercise and how often, and other factors related to caloric intake and caloric need. For people to be able to be healthy (and one marker of health is weight–not all thin people are in shape, and not all overweight people are out of shape, but it does correlate), they need to know how to make good choices, and they need to feel they have the option to make those choices. Because whether it’s a hard or easy choice to make, it is still that: a choice.
