Johnny Depp said in a recent interview that when his kids are old enough to be curious about drugs, he’ll score them their first baggie as he knows how to buy it but street dealers are apt to lace it with PCP.
I think he should start teaching his kids to act responsible earlier by teaching his daughter to use the right measures while making hashish brownies in her EZ Bake.
I don’t know, I think watching the Ozzy and Sharon show is the best anti-drug vehicle going. Ozzy is so pathetic and he realizes that a part of that is due to his abuse of alcohol and drugs.
On the other hand, like allowing your child to have wine at special events I suppose a brownie or two of hash is the Hollywood equivilent. Responsible, probably not as responsible as teaching your children the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse, but in its own way, it is an attempt to teach the child moderation and safety.
I think it makes sense, it’s just a bit too involved. I think the best thing a parent can say (and what my dad told me) is that they can’t stop their child from doing drugs, that some drugs (mostly pot) are fine occasionally or in moderation, that if they (the parents) ever ask about drug use be honest, and that if they get in drug-related trouble (like being busted), come to them for help.
Kids will do drugs whether the parents approve or not. The best thing someone can do is just be honest with their parents about it; it helps keep them out of trouble.
But what Deep is doing is pretty responsible and understanding. Better his kid gets his weed from someone Deep trusts than some kid at school (although I doubt the PCP theory).
