Firecracker popsicles. They kick my ass.
New York-style cheesecake with a buttery graham cracker crust. You have to make it with cream cheese, sour cream, eggs and butter and eat it in very small portions.
Oh, what the hell. Go ahead and eat the whole thing!

Tirimisu…lord, that stuff’s to die for
Apple Pie
Key Lime Pie
Anything with tons of whip cream on it. I’m not talkin the Cheap Redi Whip crap…I’m talking the thick stuff you get at coffee shops… :sigh: now im hungry…
Jeesh! How did I miss this thread in the first place?
Ok, just 'bout everything I make at work I love, such as:
Key Lime Cheesecake
Flourless Mocha Cake
Pastel Rufina (a concoction of puff pastry & cream-filled puffs, stuffed with a chocolate chip cream cheese filling, and topped with loads of whipped cream)
Chocolate Cream Pie
I’m a sucker for cake. Especially chocolate cakes with rich dark chocolate buttercream.
Lemon meringue pie
Anything with berries. I like fresh berry tarts.
Marjolaine (a French dessert of meringue, dark chocolate ganache, French buttercream, and whipped cream)
Did I mention I’m a pastry chef with a HUGE sweet tooth?
Oh yeah, coffee flavored desserts are always good, such as Tiramisu.
I make a pretty darn good apple & cranberry crisp for winter, with lots of vanilla and red wine; the topping is butter, brown sugar, chopped walnuts and oatmeal.
I might as well say that I’ll automatically love anything that contains sugar.
Nothing in this world beats cannoli. Nothing.
Right behind that is cheesecake and apple pie.
Whole apricots in amaretto over vanilla ice-cream .
- Tamerlane
Just about anything chocolate… Hot, cold, baked, frosted, finger food or dig in with a spoon… just as long as it’s chocolate.
Panna cotta.
Also key lime pie and cheesecake. And most things with lemons.
But I love panna cotta. (It’s an Italian dessert. Easy to make, and so bad for you you can hear your arteries squealing, but mmmmm.)
Hot baked Strawberry Pie with my homemade vanilla ice cream on top!
Pecan pie with real fresh whipped cream.
Banana pudding (yup, pure comfort food).
Oh and Cheesecake, Lemon meringue pie, Strawberry shortcake, Key Lime pie and I know there’s more!
Abby
My favorite is my father’s rice pudding, which I still haven’t successfully duplicated–as far as I can tell, he just throws in random quantities of ingredients, but it always comes out the same–delicious. Definitely a comfort food.
A close second is the really evil white chocolate mousse that I make–the mousse itself is good, and extremely rich, but on top of it I add whipped cream with a hint of almond and honey (I whip it with about a quarter teaspoon of almond extract and a 1.5 teaspoons of honey/pint. I generally garnish it with a fresh mint leaf. It’s such a pain to make that I don’t do it often.
Baklava.
When I make it, I have to make a double recipie, because I eat so much…
It’s sooooo goood!
Al.
A big tub of Cool Whip smeared all over Halle Berry.
Okay, favorite dessert that won’t get my legs broken by my wife… I have to agree with Alice on this one and say Baklava!
although, actually, baklava crumbled up and smeared all over… naahh… that’d itch like the dickens.
Another vote for baklavas. Have you tried galaktoboureko? It’s usually translated as ‘milk pie’. The filling is vanilla flavoured fine set semolina.
My other favourite desserts are tiramisu, fresh strawberries and clotted cream, and good ice cream.
Mom’s Southern Pecan Pie
Braum’s Banana-Pecan frozen yogurt with sliced fresh strawberries.
Apple Pie, still warm, with a side of Breyer’s Vanilla.
Baklava.
Fresh fruit in season. Watermelon, cantaloupe, peaches, strawberries. Yummm… nothing else, just the fruit.
Creme Anglais. No, not cake with Creme Anglais, or Creme Anglais daintily dripped over pastry. I want a large bowl of Creme Anglais to eat soup-style.
A close second in Galaktoburiko, as Tansu mentioned. Damn, that stuff is good.
Guess my tastes run to sweet milky type things. Yummm!!! Speaking of that, I also really like those Raffaello things, make by Ferrero. White chocolate, coconut, almonds. Life doesn’t get much better, although a bowl o’ those with Creme Anglais poured over 'em cereal style could be pretty damn good. Wonder if they stay crunchy in milk?
Athena, try panna cotta. I can virtually guarantee you’ll love it, if you’re into sweet creamy desserts. (If you eat it in a restaurant, it will be described on the menu as “milk custard” or something similar, which isn’t even remotely accurate, since it has no eggs. It’s just…sweet and creamy and really, really good. Also easy to make.)
And this is a dessert that deserves more widespread recognition than it has currently got. In fact, let me change my advice: everyone, especially cheesecake lovers (this won’t do much for the chocolate fans, I’m afraid), try panna cotta immediately. And don’t get any of that weird panna cotta with the blueberries or the added alcohol or anything. Just basic panna cotta, with or without a raspberry sauce.
Start the panna cotta revival!
I don’t have much of a sweet tooth anymore(blame on my darn meds), but every time I go to a certain restaurant in my area my sister and I split a Cappuccino pie. Oh, it is heaven. It is really just a mocha ice cream pie. With Oreo cookie crust. Simple but delicious.
I agree with MikeG’s recommendation of the coconut popsicles. Those are worthy of not being able to explain. They are that good. If only I could find a box of those.
Oh, and Panamajack, you crack me up. I choked on my water I was laughing so hard. I survived though. I wouldn’t be writing this now, would I?
Generic supermarket birthday cake. The white kind with the pink flowers and green leaves.
