favorite diet soda

Tab for me too. I only do about two six packs a day, but you should remember it is very hard to get it here, and because of that I have to special order it.

I know some people complain about the after-taste with Tab, but my feelings are that if you aren’t still tasting the drink an hour or two after you have finished it, the stuff is just too wimpy.

Besides the caffine makes up for any after-taste.

I pretty much only drink diet pop (POP not soda ;)). I honestly prefer the taste of diet, and I detest that nasty sticky feeling left from regular pop.

These are the ones I drink regularly:

Diet Pepsi
Diet Mountain Dew
Diet MD Code Red
Tab (Tab is the only CocaCola product I actually like-like. mmmmmm, Tab)
Diet Dr. Pepper

Diet Rock n’ Rye (made by Faygo) is pretty damn good too. For a long time Faygo’s diet pop sucked ass. It’s much better now. Faygo (along with Jones) is one of the few pop brands where I actually like their regular pop.

Diet Sprite is pretty good. Not all that different from regualar Sprite really. My grandma keeps a ton of bottles around her house, and dislikes my siblings and myself drinking them…not that that stops me of course.

On a lesser note, this is my one-hundreth post! Go me!

Diet Coke with Lime. It’s the nectar of the gods.

NOT Lemon Diet Coke. That’s just Diet Coke with Lemon Pledge. It’s evil, pure and simple, and the idiot who formulated it should be drowned and pickled in the stuff for his transgressions.

Of course, that’s typically what I get in restaurants. In the office, or on the road, I usually have a Diet Dr. Pepper. Regular sugared sodas (or “cokes”, as we call 'em here in Texas) are just too damn sweet- they hurt my teeth.

Canfield’s Chocolate Diet Soda

We had a guy who would fairly regularly order a Double Whopper w/cheese, a large fry and a king size diet coke in the drive thru. Some insisted he must be diabetic, but no one really ever figured it out. Perhaps the regular Coke was just too sweet for his taste.

Back to the OP: rather than drink diet pop, I consume about a half gallon of filtered water a day, primarily because it’s much cheaper and might be healthier. Among the diet pops I have sampled over the years, the diet lemon/lime types seemed the least offensive. Diet Sprite and Diet 7Up are probably the least worst, IMHO.

All this discussion of Diet Coke but no mention of the far superior Caffiene-Free Diet Coke???

Diet-Coke: Artificially colored, artificially flavored, artificially caffienated, artificially sweetened, artificially carbonated water.

Caffiene-Free Diet Coke: Artificially colored, artificially flavored, artificially sweetened, artificially carbonated water.

A person has to draw the line somewhere.
