(They do have a touring component, and two Dethklok albums have been released, so I don’t know if they really count as fake…)
But they’re thinking about changing the name.
My contribution:
The fake band (led by Matt Damon) who sings Scotty Doesn’t Know.
the punk group Pain from an episode of CHiPs. Their song “Pain” had these lyrics:
I dig pain
The feeling in my brain
The scratchin’ The bashin’
The clawin’ The trashin’
The given’ The gettin’
And the total blood lettin’
Drive me insane
I dig pain
The Beatles from Help!, A Hard Day’s Night and Yellow Submarine (in that order).
Despite the various similarities, I think they count as fictional representations…
Also, Dwayne’s band Scäb from “Home Movies.”
the Carrie Nations (previously known as the Kelly Affair. (D’ya think Mr’s. Hanna & Barbera saw “Beyond the Valley of the Dolls” before they adapted “Josie & the Pussycats”?
Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. Great band, and probably the best band name ever conceived. A while ago I saw a poster for an all-fake-bands version of Coachella including a lot of the bands named in this thread, but I can’t find a copy.
Bad News (on Tour)
The Buggles are a real band.
Maybe he meant Sid & Marty Krofft’s Bugaloos?
Ahem. Please see post #2.
and…
Who do you think is better?
Chad and Jeremy were on Batman once. That was pretty cool.
The two I would pick.
Nothing too obscure for Dope.
Thought I would be first.
Cold Slither from G.I. Joe.
You’ll be joining them soon!
I’m going to have to go with The Stains from Ladies and Gentlemen… The Fabulous Stains (I even used to play bits of the soundtrack when I DJed a punk night) and The Sleez Sisters from Times Square.
I sort of have a thing for fictional all girl punk bands.
But when I want to make fun of a band for having a terrible name, I call them Hep Alien, which I think is from Gilmore Girls.
