The Band With Rocks In from Terry Pratchett’s Soul Music.
I know it’s foreign, but I’m really surprised that no one here has heard of Detroit Metal City – the group giving its name to the anime series and the live-action movie, which are really very funny.
The Oneders!
No love for Jeffster yet? Shame on you.
Might as well mention Snakes & Barrels
Milli Vanilli
The Weird Sisters from Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire.
The Moe Syzlak Experience featuring Homer
And Creed Bratton from The Office says he was in The Grass Roots!
Maybe I’m being whooshed, but Creed Bratton was indeed in The Grass Roots, a very real band.
If we’re doing books, then the Nazgûl, from the Armageddon Rag.
Sorry, that’s what I get for skimming the thread.
Who could forget The Modal Nodes .
That was the first band that I thought of. The score had a clutch of half-decent original songs, too.
This only occurred to me now: if the Mos Eisley Cantina band’s “clarinet” players were brothers, would they be known as “The Eisley Brothers”? (And yeah, I know it’s spelled differently.) Was George Lucas a huge fan (and does he have a stack of Stax wax), or is that outpost’s name just a coincidence?
The Beau Brummelstones.
And then there is the old standby from the '50s: Joe Elastic And His Rubber Band.
Shame on you too for waiting so long!
JEFFSTER!
Although, they have performed in Comic Cons so does that make them a real band?
Whooosh!
My first thought was Cap’n Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters (i.e., The Wonders / Oneders when they were making a cameo in a beach movie).
