Favorite glasses - a beverage-ish MMP

Damned snow is beginning to stick. I blame Mooooooooom and her fire.

I’m a follower of the Ways of Mike. Do it right in the first place, or make it right if someone else didn’t, and not have to worry about it again. At our previous home, some goofball thought silicone caulk was good stuff to use on drain pipes. It isn’t, and it was leaking. I just cut the whole thing out and started fresh.

Okay, I’m used to phishing emails. A phishing automated phone call? That was a new one.

Hey, **BBBobbio **- check out the view from my kitchenand my dining room! If you look closely, you can also see the chunk missing from the back part of the shed roof. Guess the stuff inside is being snowed upon also.

Made that a couple weeks go; brought it into work and ate it on toast/bagels for 4 days. Absolutely nobody would try it, lol! Good, sweet stuff

I’m drinking out of one of those glasses right now!

Laundry has been did and folded, job sites skimmed, resume uploaded to one, coffee appointment cancelled again (Chaplain and I usually go through about four or five cycles of this before we can finally get a date that works for both of us), library has been visited. Today’s haul was Grendel, which I’ve been wanting to read since high school, and Pecked to Death by Ducks which has one of those “please read me!” titles. I also cleaned my room and bathroom, scrubbed the toilet, and washed and put away the dishes. Now I shall fritter away my afternoon with Skyrim.

Edit to add: Whoops, new to the MMP thing, as I haven’t worked anywhere allowing internet for some time. But now I am practicing for retirement <laid off> and enjoying the lovely weather, which is to say overcast and cool and almost, dare I say it, almost a tiny bit humid?! As it very, very rarely rains here long enough to get wet, even the promise of a sprinkle puts a giddyup in my getalong.

Coffee…I think that’s the next thing, yup…coffee!
Oh, in my favorite mug. It’s nothing unusual…comes from Starbucks, of all places, a place I don’t care about one way or another…but the size, shape and design all hit my ‘yippee’ button, so much so that I promised to steal it from someone at work. Then I saw on my husband’s facebook that HE had one…he got me one before I could steal HIS. Smart man. http://fivemilesout.net/storage/Starbucks_Dragon.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1328834460874

Afternoon! I am checking in quick as I have to head to Dallas this afternoon. But first I must go to the post office and mail my Godson’s birthday present off.

I have a favourite coffee mug at home - we are not ones for being all matchy matchy so our coffee mug collection is extensive and miss-matched - but it is a tall holds 20oz easily and is a covered in a Gerbera daisy pattern. Very cheery in the morning. mr ems is not allowed to touch it as he breaks things.

I inherited my parents’ extensive collection of cocktail and adult beverage glassware - I several favorites in that group, but I am especially enamored of the cordial glasses; I have small clear cylinders that look like they came from a chem lab, except they have little handles; mini blue glass brandy snifters, and mini red glass martini shaped glasses.

Well, the blizzard is done. It’s just wet out there, and I saw a bit of sun trying to peep thru. The crock pot roast is smelling yum. And I shall return to my knitting…

Came in late to work today because I had to run to the urgent care to get antibiotics. I woke up in the middle of the night convinced I had an UTI. And I was right. sigh

Anyway, had an awesome weekend. Went over to my boyfriend’s place on Friday and we did fun things. Spend the night Saturday and we did more fun things, including writing. Went home and to a Celtic dance and music show at the church. That ended up being aggravating, because I didn’t realize that the charity that it was for was an anti-abortion one. Grrr… there are over 7 billion people, you don’t have to save every baby! Spent a lot of it imagining the cute boys on stage in sexy clothes.

Sunday went out the lunch with Rick, which is always fun.

Favorite glasses? Probably my periwinkle-colored plastic tumblers. They’re nothing special really, but they’re my blue.

Happy Monday Morning Post all!

My cousin is at the beach (Nags Head) at their timeshare for most of this coming week, so I don’t have our normal email correspondence to distract me in the morning. And I miss it!

I have a favorite coffee mug, and woe to anyone else who tries to use it. LOL Since moving to Albuquerque, the new favorite is a black Route 66 mug. I only use it for coffee; if I drink tea or hot chocolate, I’ll use another mug - that one is my coffee only mug. I think I need to get some of those Libbey Gibraltar glasses though. All of our current “glass” ware is actually plastic and I think I just need the option of real glass, even if I’ll probably break most of them. :frowning:

Spaz, my daughter is going to the library for me today; I’ve got a couple of books on hold there (one of them is a Joe Hill novel); I’m currently engrossed in “The Help,” which is very good, if you haven’t read it or seen the movie. I have not seen the movie yet, but will be watching it very soon, I think. One book that is still on hold (and I’m not sure where I’m at on the wait list, but am afraid it’s pretty far down the line) is “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close,” which is about 9/11 and the aftermath for one young boy (I think … ). Oh and I have gotten a Kindle Fire - if anyone has any recommendations for ebooks for me, please message me! I will be greatly appreciative.

Crabby today. Still sick, etc…

Somebody want to come do my homework for me?

I have my Taz coffee mug that Mr Rebo is not allowed to use. No particular glass, except that I like the matching rocks glasses we bought and use them for my evening libation.

I am so sore and worn out from spring cleaning this weekend. We got after it! Moving furniture and throwing out shit and shampooing carpets. I excavated 11 toilet paper tubes from under the bed. That’s Ernie’s “cave” - and his stash.

Saturday afternoon, we set out a dresser by the curb with a"free" sign on it. It was gone by Sunday night. I’m glad somebody took it, it was sturdy and in good shape, but BUTT UGLY! It was from my former husband’s stuff, and I was thoroughly sick of it. We can’t afford new bedroom furniture just yet, but it’s a start. Next will be other dresser, and the nightstands. And headboard! And painting, and new carpet… <sigh>

Howdy Mumpers. 'tis a 33° day here in Southbridge. All the rain we were supposed to get over the weekend never showed up and so the snow is still here.

We are a household of favorite drinking vessels. Sweetie keeps inheriting mugs from different people. We have a ledge running around our kitchen which has the mugs with special sentimental value. Our favorite drinking mugs are the red clay ones we get from Sturbridge Village. We’d prefer they not break but they’re also easily replaceable if they do. As for glasses, we have a mixture of old scotch glasses from his parents, old drinking glasses from his grandparents, some sweet 50’s looking glasses I got at a flea market, and some ugly little green glasses (actually bamboo vases) that I got at the dollar store. I prefer the 50’s looking glasses and the green glasses. My absolute favorite though is my water bottle from UConn. It holds 24oz of water (so about an hour’s worth) and it fits my hand and has a handy loop on it for easy carrying.
I spent most of the last 5 days with little or no headache and I was wondering if it was gone all on it’s own or if the medication was just working THAT well. Well, I haven’t taken the medication in over 24 hours (testing my hypothesis you see?). Sure enough, the headache is easing its way back. Methinks I’ll take my next regularly scheduled dose. The annoying tingling in my hands still keeps haunting me and my feet fall asleep disturbingly frequently and I still can’t drink soda at all (even ginger ale tastes yuck and that almost made me cry!)

I spent nearly my entire weekend doing my chemistry homework and I still didn’t finish it. I have come to the conclusion that my chem professor is delusional. I wonder if she realizes that the two weekly assignments take over 30 hours to complete (not just for me either - everyone else complains it takes way too long also). I’d be really irritated if not for the fact that these particular assignments are probably the best learning tool I’ve ever experienced. Luckily for me, next week is vacation and the next assignment isn’t due until the 25th. I’ll have plenty of time to do the assignments I missed (won’t get credit for them but I’ll learn more).

My midterm is on Friday and I’m not at all prepared for it. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m going to do my best to get through this class but if I fail I wont be broken-hearted because I’m still learning a lot and the next time I take it I’ll breeze right through it.
I have two clocks in my living room (a wall mounted pendulum clock and a mantle clock). Both of them are acting up and I think they need to be cleaned and tuned up. My cousins’ uncle owns a clock shop in Mystic. Methinks there will be a trip to the coast for me in the near future! Maybe he can fix our cuckoo clock too.

I need to have a little talk with Sweetie. He keeps putting the creamer behind the egg-beaters and in my bleary just woke up brain, the yellow quart container and the white quart container look exactly the same. For the second time in the last 4 days, I put egg beaters in my coffee.

And made coffee flavored egg drop soup.

I have a favorite cup, I guess. It’s nothing special; a red plastic, double-walled, travel cup. But I use it for everything but coffee. For coffee we have a large assortment of oddball cups. If I have any favorites of that lot, it’s the thick-walled ceramic mugs that hold the heat better. Otherwise, i just take whatever’s in front.

It’s raining cats and dogs and little poodle pups here.

I need to go make soap.

I am partial to Bacarat crystal glasses.
Of course, its a major tragedy when you break one.

Yesterday at 12:27pm I called in sick for today, knowing I wasn’t in good shape and I wanted to give them ample warning. This morning I noticed my name was not on the rundown as having called in sick, so I emailed the Assignment Manager to remind him I was sick.

Just got off the phone with the night desk who was calling to find out where I was and what vehicle I was driving. Considering I have been in a low-grade war at work regarding communication and the need to respond (to which I have been told in the past “I saw your email, I don’t need to respond to it”) I am both pissed and amused.

Oh well, back to computer games and coughing.

Howdy Y’all! Home from irk and have had soup, played the feud and caught up on the MMP though my retention is not so good. I have decided that the ick is most likely sinus related and my two main Spring pollen nemises (that’s the plural of nemesis, feel free to toss that fact out next time you need small talk at a cocktail pary) are oak and pee-can and both are tasslin’ right now. OYKW is stuck at irk with a bunch of paperirk, poor thing, so I guess I won’t see him tonight. Le Sigh.

Everybody who has some kind of ick, feel better.

I guess communication issues are rampant in all aspects of the TV world. Sweetie is constantly complaining about the exact same issues, at the sports station now and at the PBS station in the past. Considering how many people in the TV world have communications degrees, I can’t help but think you guys shouldn’t be having these problems. Then again, his problems generally start with the management types and they have business degrees. That must be it.
Are you coughing from the smoke inhalation or are you sick? I hope you feel better soon!
