The title pretty much says it all. It is almost 4:00AM, very cold and snowy, and I must go to irk. Blurf.
First! It’s good to be juvenile!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 46 Amurrkin out and cloudy (well, dark) with an expected high of 57 and mostly cloudy for the day. Winter is sayin’ hello again kinda sorta for the next few days. I have hauled the biiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down to the road for pickup since I arose. Go Me! The biggie plan for the day is to defilthyfy da cave and make sup which shall be salmon patties, peas, smashed N.O.T., and bizkits. No plans to leave da cave at all today which is fine by me.
CupCakes I highly recommend retirement.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.
Happy Moanday Y’all!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. More rain today.
swampy, I can probably retire 4 years after I die.
Waiting at the Hyundai dealer. They didn’t have my appointment. But they’ll do the recalls and I hope It all be fast.
I also woke at 4, dammit. Such is life.
Happy Moanday !!!
Happy Moonday!
There is lots of snow outside, it snowed all day yesterday and then turned to freezing rain last night.
Makes for very pretty trees.
My son shoveled the sidewalks last night and put down a bunch of salt, so hopefully not too slippery outside.
He shoveled four houses because the neighbor on the other side shoveled our walk the last 2-3 snows, so we owe him one. And he started doing the next neighbor up because she and her bf are older and it’s a nice thing to do.
I have to go get stuck one day this week. Fasting blood test, so is going to be annoying with it being cold all this week. I wanted to go Wednesday, but the temp that morning is predicted to be 9 degrees.
I think my son fixed the leak under the kitchen sink. He tightened one the rings around one of the pipes, but I don’t know why that should come loose.
I never want to go to irk anymore, and I don’t even have to ‘go’ anywhere. Irk is getting irksome.
I took Ripple to the dog park yesterday, in the snow. There was nobody there, so he got to run around and explore a bit. It was fun for him, cold for me.
Second load of laundry is in the washer, pork roast and broccoli for me for dinner, tacos for my son.
It’s March 4th, and it’s below zero outside goddammit!!!
Expansion and contraction due to the varying water temps can cause stuff like that to loosen over time.
My Monday is already finished. I usually have Chinese lessons now, but I’m tired and bailed.
My kids were helpfully opened the box with the new wireless mouse, but apparently didn’t notice the adapter in it. Grrrrr. We’ll try to track it down tomorrow.
Metal Mouse You OK. I know there was some bad wx in Alabammy.
I am irking and I needed one more day off.
Lots to do though so it will go quickly. Happy New Week All!
-2 when I got up. 34"s of snow this weekend. I plowed 4 times. Welcome to spring.
What cats said. I don’t mind my job, in fact, I like it. I just hate getting up at zero dark thirty, getting dressed, driving. I would have a better “work life balance” if I could roll in between 9 and 10 but TPTB won’t agree. My allergies are flaring up and I ran out of foo Allegra, so had to stop at Walgreen’s on the way to irk.
Butters, I wasn’t even aware of it until I read your post and goggled. Got nothing close to that up here (the damage was well South of me). I feel for the folks that got hammered (and 23 dead…)
Slept till near 8am today. As swampy sezs, retirement is good, unfortunately you have to be old to get it. 28F outside and 36F will be the high today–now I’m glad they cancelled soccer, having 40+ 6 year old girls out in freezing weather will not teach them to appreciate soccer.
Sari, be careful walking; friend of mine (not here) slipped on an icy patch and fractured his ankle. Good on Sah-son for clearing (and salting) the area.
My birthday is Wednesday; its always cold and snowy around my birthday. Get used to it.
Other than that just up and doing some laundry and adulting.
I do not want to be at work. My boss is really frustrating me. She’s a fan of ambiguous pronouns.
“Did you see that thing last week?”
“Which thing?”
“The thing on the SharePoint page.”
“What thing on which SharePoint page?” …and so on.
So I sound like an idiot for asking the obvious questions because she’s all about pronouns. I could cry from frustration.
19 F when I drove to work in Little Rock at 6:30.
Leftover Pollo Fiesta for lunch. I don’t know if it’s a typical Mexican dish or just what Salsa’s calls it, but they saute chickie slices, spinach, and 'shrooms, then serve them over rice with cheese sauce. Very yum, but the serving is far too much for one meal. So it was supper and now lunch.
SIL has the magic touch when it comes to getting Roxy to sleep. She was making all the sleepy signs, but she wouldn’t doze off for me. She was more interested in trying to eat the buttons on my polo shirt. However, she’s out now, so I have a little time to do stuff.
Speaking of Poke roast and broccoli - GMTA! I’ve got the poke in the oven with some Sonny’s sweet BBQ sauce. Later on, I’ll toss in some N.O.T.s to bake and I’ll steam the broccoli.
Busy, busy day…
I had a coworker who I lovingly called “Twenty Questions” (fondly and in place of her real name for all uses) to one and all because every conversation came down to a game of Twenty Questions and in the end it turned out to be a yes-or-no answer. She jumped next door to another business; I miss her but not all the questions I had to ask.
Looking up the prices of fly robs; never knew I had so many that never got fished. One of many things I hope to cure.
Afternoon all.
I’m having a stupidly clumsy day today; went to go play with tiny plants, and almost as soon as I got there, caught my own finger in a door, drawing enough blood that I had to go find a first aider.
Decided to take some of the tiny plants home, as they’re getting a bit bigger now and hopefully don’t need quite so much coddling. Got into the car, and promptly dropped one of the pots. It had a lid on, but while trying to sort it out, I managed to drop 2 of the 3 tiny plants contained in the pot on the floor, and had to awkwardly search the car with a torch to find 'em (side note- under the passenger seat is revolting; being on the top flat, my vacuum won’t reach the car, so I’ve put it off waaay too long).
Then got home (narrowly avoiding a fairly impressive hailstorm), made sourdough pizza for dinner, and managed to drop the pizza inside the oven while getting it out.
I’m quite amazed I managed to drive home in one piece; if you don’t hear from me in the next few days, I somehow managed to set the bed on fire with a hot water bottle.
That could be the answer. I’ve washed 5 loads of clothes since he fixed it and no leaks.
Juliet, I hear you. My mother does the same thing, leading to much frustration on my end. Even worse, she’ll blame it on me, because my father never had any trouble following her conversation.
MetalMouse, no danger of me falling, I don’t have to go out today so I won’t. I scheduled my blood test for Thorsday.
I also called the doctor’s office again today to get a refill on my prescription. They never filled it from when I called in last week, and I suspect they never will. I had this problem with my other doctor, I think nobody listens to the messages or something. I go to the doctor next week and she will hear about it.
For my fellow Colonists, a flashlight is called a torch in Great Britain.
Filbert, I have forgotten when type of little plants, and their purpose.
