Somehow I get the feeling that among those who vote, Animal is gonna get the most. But for me, I think Beeker with his cute little way of communicating is just the best.
Ah-Ni-MALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
oh, and the 2 old guys in the balcony.
I’m a Gonzo-gal myself. “I know this story like the back of my hand!” And that long-ass nose. Wonderful.
Ralph.
And Kermit should have died with Jim Henson.

It’s Rowlf.
I disagree, but of course you’re entitled to your opinion. (Incidentally, Jim Henson disagreed, too – he had personally said that he believed Steve Whitmire would be able to take over performing Kermit if and when Jim himself was unable to perform him.)
But back to the OP, Kermit’s my favorite – to the point that I collect him. But Gonzo is a close second.
(Did anyone else see the appearance by Kermit and Gonzo on NBC’s Today Show Tuesday morning, June 12? It was WONDERFUL – classic Muppet stuff – all ad-lib.)
Sweetums.
Cookie Monster!
Abby
Another vote for GONZO!!! I can dig it!
It’s the primitive side of me but yes I love Animal…
Love his drum style too, nothing like a musician named Animal to make me shiver with delight!
Fozzie Bear is pretty close up there. Gonzo is up there too. Don’t forget Sam the Eagle too (I think that’s the correct name for him – the Patriotic Bird!)
Ah shoot, I dig all them Muppets and have been contemplating getting the videos of The Muppet Show.
My fav is the Swedish Chef, with his mad-cap throwing of various objects into the pot to the detriment of anyone in the way. Also the hmm, de hmm, de hmmm, bjork! bjork! bjork!
Animal: patterned after Keith Moon. Brilliant.
Grover: particularly the schtick with the blue-headed guy in the restaurant. Cracks me up. (I know this is more “Sesame Street” than “Muppet Show,” but he’s still a Muppet.)
The Guys in the Balcony: do they have names? This question has been pissing me off for years. I just can’t remember!!
After a quick Google search, I have found out that the guys in the balcony are Statler (the tall, thin one on the right) and Waldorf (the short, bald one on the left.) Whew, that was taxing my brain.
It’s all about Beaker, baby!
Gonzo
The unforgettable moment when he went on stage with his rock act. Curtain opens. Huge rock onstage. Gonzo starts bashing it with a hammer, yelling, desperately, “Art! Art! Art!”
Changed my life.
Another dipstick to measure my odd sense of humor…
My fav has always been Lew Zealand and his boomerang fish, closely followed by Crazy Harry.
Both have a deranged quality to their appearance and their behavior that I like in friends and muppets alike.
Don’t most of the muppets have a deranged manner to them? Even Kermit and Ms. Piggy.
BTW,
[hijak] Did anyone see Ms. Piggy’s appearance on the Daily Show? Hilarious! You can view it here
Just scroll down until you see piggy [/hijak]
I like the guy in the band that’s stoned, actually I like the whole band cause they’re all stoned. I also like;
Oscar the Grouch,
the guy that runs around blowing stuff up.
Snuffalufagus,
those two S.S. aliens that go “yuuuup, yuuuuup, yup yup yup yup yup.”
Aughra, the witch from The Dark Crystal, not “technically” a Muppet, but made by Jim Henson
One more vote for the Cookie Monster.
He’s just like me.
Big, dumb, goofy, and blue?
Miss Piggy.
Always reminds me of my sister. (Don’t tell her that.)
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-YAAA!!!
