Favorite school house rock song?

I bought a cd of Schoolhouse Rock for my five year old daughter. She loves it. Her favorite tunes are Interplanet Janet and Unpack Your Adjectives. Me? I lean towards Rufus Xavier Sarsparilla and Lolly, Lolly, Lolly Get Your Adverbs Here.

The ones that stick with me are “I’m Just A Bill” and “Conjunction Junction.” I can never remember the Bill song past the first few lines, though. It always morphs into another song:

I’m just a bill
Yes I’m only a bill
And I’m sitting here on Capitol Hill
Well, I’m just sittin’ on the front steps
Starin’ out the door
Wonderin’ if she’ll come back
This time I don’t know

Don’t ask. I don’t know either.

Electricity, E-LEC-TRICITY!

Yeah - tho I could sing quite a few, Conjunction Junction is the one that comes immediately to mind.

The Preamble, of course!

o/ In 1787, I'm told, our founding fathers did agree... o/

The one with the Preamble…it’s still how I remember the damn thing.

“Interjections!” Especially love the hippie chick who says “Wow!”…anytime I say “wow”, I say it in that hippie chick voice.

I also like “Mr. Morton”, though I don’t remember watching it way back when. It must have come out later on.

Lolly, Lolly, Lolly get yer adverbs here… indubitably.

/darn, that’s the end.

Unless you bought the DVD, chances are you’ve never seen this one: Tyrannosaurus Debt. I never saw it while growing up during the classic SHR era, but now it ranks near the top of my favs.

“Conjunction Junction” and “Ready or Not, Here I Come” are probably my all-time favorites.

“Figure Eight” can make me cry, though.

“VERB” because that’s whats happening
“LUCKY SEVEN SAMPSON” It’s got that 70’s urban vibe mixed with hillbilly country
“FIGURE 8” Don’t know just makes me nostalgic when I hear the opening of that one.
“I’VE GOT SIX” Funky and has the lyric: “See that cat over there? The prince with the fuzzy hair he’s got six wives with six kids each…”

Suffering for Suffrage is my all-time favorite. “What a shame, sister!”

I’ll second “Unpack Your Adjectives” and “The Tale of Mr Morton” which I heard after I grow up. The remake of the latter song by Skee-Lo is pretty awesome too.

Shot heard 'round the world. Gets me all patriotic.

Three is a Magic Number is impossible to top, in my opinion.

And it gets cool points for the extra-tight Blind Melon cover of the song.

Ooh! I like that one, too!

Ween’s version of that is outstanding, and I usually can’t stand Ween.

Vagina Junction, what’s your function?
Takin’ in sperm and spitting out babies!
