Smell Yo Dick by Riskay. I win the thread! Drops mic, walks off stage
Sally Go Round the Roses Jaynetts
“Saddest thing in the whole wide world
See your baby with another girl”.
Smile Lily Allen
Hot Razors Crack the Sky
Baby, It’s You Shirelles
Hey, Hey What Can I Do Led Zeppelin
River Runs Deep Eric Clapton and JJ Cale
“Cheatin’ woman gonna get a good man down.
Cheatin’ woman gonna get a good man down.
Runnin’ 'round like a silly fool
End up at the bottom of a pool
The river runs deep, the water is cold as ice.”
Broken Bed by James McMurtry
“Nothing to be done, nothing to be said
Just had to lay back down on this broken bed
…
You could call me later
Walk me through this one more time
I guess you got your needs and I got mine”
Speaking of Elvis Costello, my favorite cheatin’ song of his is Baby Plays Around.
Hm. Elvis Costello must be the most cheated-on musician in history, judging from his song catalog.
The Dark End of the Street- Joe Tex version is the greatest…
some not already stated…
Make Me the Woman You Come Home To - Gladys Knight and the Pips
Your Body’s Here With Me (but you mind is on the Other Side of Town) - The O’Jays
I Should Have Cheated - Keyshia Cole
I love that the singers seem to put some real emotion into the songs (if you can fake sincerity you’ve got it made) ![]()
I’m sure there are better songs, but my favorite?
Hey, Hey What Can I Do by Led Zeppelin
**(You’ve Been Doin’ Something Wrong) I Can Tell By The Way You Smell
**
recorded by Ry Cooder, David Lindley, probably others
Just remembered another favorite:
Got A Feelin’ (Mamas & Papas)
selected lyric:
“Got a feelin’ that I’m wasting time on you babe
Got a feelin’ that you’ve been untrue.
I got a feelin’ that you’re stealin’
All the love I thought I was giving to you.”
I understand from his albums that Mr. John Lee Hooker likewise has some trouble w/ his women.
Favorite cheating song of mine is ‘Tempted’, by Squeeze.

My iced tea just came shooting out my nose. I think you DO win the thread!!!
“I Can’t Stand It” by Eric Clapton.
I can’t stand it.
You’re fooling around, I can’t stand it.
You’re running around, I can’t stand it.
You’re fooling around with my heart.
Don’t know about favourite, but what about The Monkees “Look Out, Here Comes Tomorrow”
I forgot my favourite (duh)- Viola Wills “Gonna Get Along Without You Now.”
Frankie and Albert by Taj Mahal.
I’m a back door man
Men don’t know, but the little girls understand
Wash by Pearl Jam:
I like Just Like Me by Jamie Foxx and T.I. Funny video too, never had seen it before.
Heart - *All I Wanna do is Make Love to You *- a song about getting impregnated by a stranger because your husband is shooting blanks.
Carrie Undersood - *Before He Cheats *- a song about damaging your boyfriend/husband’s pickup because you “think” he may be cheating on you.
Well hell, the entire genre is custom-made for cheating songs, innit?
Another good one from Robert Cray is “Right Next Door (Because of Me)”, the track that give his album Strong Persuader its title:
Led Zeppelin had a few, of course, “Since I’ve Been Loving You” and “Hey, Hey What Can I Do” having been mentioned. I like “Your Time is Gonna Come”, both for the swirling organ sound of JPJ and Plant’s vengeful tone: “You been bad to me woman, but it’s coming back home to you.”
How about one from blues legend Buddy Guy - “Someone Else is Steppin’ In”: “While you were slippin’ out, someone else was slippin’ in”
For a more pop-ish approach, I’ve always liked the bit of a twist in Del Amitri’s “Always the Last to Know”, which starts off sounding like the singer may have been wronged but turns out to be not so.
A few of my favorites:
Jolene, by Dolly Parton
I wish I Wasn’t by Heather Headley
