Even with every safety restriction known to man, I hesitate to say there is enough money you could pay me to do anything resembling that.
I’m saying, like, you could give me 500 million dollars, tax free, and I would still have to pause about it.

Most enjoyable (will watch more than once):
Edge of Tomorrow
Tropic Thunder
A Few Good Men
Best performance (IMO):
The Color of Money
Born on the Fourth of July
Rain Man
Magnolia was the first thing to come to mind. I think Cruise is a very good actor and does well in nearly every role, but Frank Mackey was probably his best acted role that I’ve seen him in.
In my case because I simply forgot about it, which is weird because I was thinking of it the other day. Add it to my list. Cruise is a great sociopath, and Michael Mann is at his Mann-iest.
Edge of Tomorrow has got to be the best answer. People tend to either like or hate Tom Cruise, and this movie caters to both crowds. “Likers” get to watch him in a quirky action piece, and haters get to watch him die over and over and over again.
Risky Business is #1. Tied for #2 are Rain Man, Legend and War of the Worlds.
Edge of Tomorrow and Minority Report, don’t make me choose.
Taps. Such an excellent movie that manages to be serious but not preachy, it doesn’t hit you over the head with the message, and it isn’t Oscar baity.
Overall, Risky Business. He’s done some good stuff since that, but he hasn’t topped it.
